How can I give my GM more of an aggressive stance?(wider & lower profile) With out pay for an expensive suspension kit.

Get some non grampa wheels. Do you have air ride or is your car a base model?

cut your front coils down 1 whole coil. if you want a wider stance you can always run some 1" hubcentric spacers all round.

if he has the soft suspension I wouldn't want to cut coils. a low spring rate plus lowered stance is a disaster

I do not believe I have air ride. If I am correct and remember right it is just a GS.
Some one on a different forum told me to get the P71 shocks

Not sure if Im fond about cutting springs. In the other car world I'm in this only leads to a bouncy uncomfortable right.

Upgrade to different wheels and space them out a little bit.
DO NOT run staggered sizes (i.e. taller in the back). Your ABS/TC will not like it.

cutting a coil will increase spring rate....i'm pretty sure. now i'm second guessing myself.

cutting a coil will stiffen your ride...not greatly but more so than your current ride.

Mine rides a tad bit rougher, but nothing bad at all.

not shocks, but the springs... P71 springs are abit stiffer, and yes i would suggest cutting those instead of the super mush GS/base springs. P71's arent that harsh, they wont break your back like eibach's.
Since you have a base model, you should really look into getting atleast a rear sway bar... IIRC your car does not have one

yes cutting springs increases spring rate, but not by a lot. Lowering springs are always much stiffer (achieved by larger coil winding diameter) because the lower your car is, the less compliant you want the suspension to be, so you are not hitting the stops hard.

Oh! Okay that makes more sense haha, I was like "how are shocks alone going to stiffin up my suspension"
What is your opinion on a good spring that will lower the stance along with improve the over all suspension? Also how do you lower the rear on these cars?

In my other car scene cutting the spring equal a bouncy ride with poor handling. So I would be worry to do this on a heavy car like a Marquis.
Where would I find a front/rear sway bar setup, And what are the different types or stages to chose from?
Sorry for all these questions and threads I have going on.. I'm just trying to learn these cars as fast as I can. I am a fast learner so it's not like this will be an on going thing. I thank all of you that are so willing to help a noob out and baring with me here.

people have proven on this site that if you cut the marauder spring, it will not cause a harsh ride and that the marauder spring is stiff enough to not bottom out even shortened. So i would find a set of used front marauder springs, and cut them. People have already done the r&d for ya. This isn't the "other car scene", thank god.

Well, the CVPI DOES have stiffer shocks, but, i wouldnt suggest cutting your grandma soft springs, CVPI springs are a stiffer spring rate and are better to be used for lowering, just trim a coil off and it should drop an inch. The rear has coils to if im not mistaken so just do the same there.
Also, you could either get addco front rear sway bars, or look into finding a P71 front sway bar, and a HPP rear sway bar. Thats the biggest OEM sway bar combo you can do. Control arms will make a nice difference to

marauder springs wont fit a 98-02 front suspension, and he doesn't have rear air ride...

dammit, I try to forget that the pre 03 front end exists (well I guess I succeeded in that actually...). The 03+ aluminum front end is dy-no-mite and steering gear is... not. Substitute "correct year p71" where I said "marauder" then. Yeah thats what I meant

Sounds good, I'll keep my eye open for these as well then. I'm making a list of things to buy over the next few weeks haha I think I'm going to need more paper. Good thing is most of these parts are going to be second hand so they shouldn't cost to much.
on a side note: The "other scene" isn't that bad, I know it's the "dark side" to V8 guys but it's just like any scene... Theirs always going to be a "tool" or "Tools" I actual run a web site simular to this one but for Honda's, So I see all types of people come and go... Some people are the nicest people I have ever met... Some I wish I could reach through the monitor and "Donkey punch" in the face:mad2:. And just like V8 guys or American muscle guy I hate the young kids that run around with fart cans an huge wings trying to race anything that moves.

I would feel allot better cutting a stiffer spring Vs a soft one that's on my car now. So I will look around here and other sites to see if I can get lucky.
I think OE will suit my daily needs just fine so this is prob what I'll go with. By the way.... HPP?:help:

HPP = Handling & Performance package, it was an option on I believe as far back as 92 to 2002 CV's and MGM's. Although look for a 1998 - 2002 car, you can spot a HPP car as it will have these rims (its the easiest way to tell)

Buy a Marauder.
 It's not in my budget right now, buying a house is more important at this time in my life.
How ever I did track down a set of Mustang wheels and tomorrow I am going to go to the J yard in hopes of coming home with a set of P71 springs. I'm going to go with every ones advice and cut off one coil, And also install new P71 shocks all around. After this is done if I am not satisfied I am going to go back to the J yard for some sway bars.
