Hey guys, i just found this site, and im about to purchase a 2003 leftover Marauder this week. I was wondering what i should look out for as in problems. I read about the paint swirls and foggy headlamps. Anything else to watch out for? Also, what type of performance upgrades can be added, and do they help out? Any info would be great. Thanks
Frank

ultravorx - Welcome aboard. The paint is probably the number one complaint. The headlights are an easy fix ( have dealer install the updated ones). As far as Mods, there are several vendors who support this site. They are the ones who know how to get the best performance out of the Marauder. Good luck with your purchase.

Yeah paint is the big issue.

Good luck.

Welcome aboard Ultravorx. If you have a MM or any other Ford product in mind, Feel free to PM me with the VIN. I'll run it through Ford's OASIS database. It doesn't hurt to check it out.

are two different ones. The 300A and 300B. The 300A's have a full size spare tire, and a locking gas cap door. They also do NOT have Traction control. The 300B has heated seats, Traction control, NO locking gas cap door, and one of those dougnut spare tires. But tyhe quickest way to tell if it's a 300A, or 300B is to sit in the driver's seat, and look just a little to your left of the steering wheel column and below the instrument cluster. If it's a 300A then you'll see only one buttonm which is for adjusting the brake and gas pedal height. And if it's a 300B then you'll also see a second button for the Traction control. The window sticker should also tell you this. But the 300A's and 300B's are identical in every other way. I believe the 300A's only came in Black, whereas the 300B's came in other colors as well(Blue, and silver).
And BTW, you can see the Modifications that I've done to my car below in my signature, and out of all those mods, it was the Stallion Torque converter that made the biggest difference in performance, w/the Reinhart chip being the second biggest. However, the Stallion Torque converter was also the most expensive of those mods at about $800 for the part itself.I expect to also obtain some great results from the Kook's headers,X-pipe, hi-flow cats, and mufflers that I'm about to add, but that will even cost more than the Torque converter did. But performance costs money.

Welcome aboard from one Newbie to another. The people here are really great, Except for Rich_Long he gets jealous if your car whistles:P . No really, EVERYBODY here is very nice and you will learn a lot about the car. The Car Meets that we have are great and it is nice to see what each person does different to his or her own car. I my self have Kenny Brown #8 and I absolutely love her, she is both quick and fast:burnout: Enjoy her and do what mods you will feel good about, because there are a lot of different mods out there. Wish you the best of luck with your new BEAST.

I would listen to the stereo carefully for unwanted vibration in the parcel shelf area.

There are MANY things you can do to the MM. Budget and desires are what will guide you. If it can be done to a car, the people here can help you.

After purchasing mine last week, this really helps. I had no idea what all this 300A vs. 300B talk meant. Now I know what mine is, 300A. I must say after owning an '01 Mustang GT with traction control I could do without this feature on my new MM if it's identical.
