Was looking at upgrading the trans pan with a Mag-Hytec because of the magnet and extra capacity. Might even do the differential cover too. Do the 4R70WD and the 4R75WD look the same with different internal goodies or are they totally different transmissions? Thanks for your responses:)

Thanks Dave. I thought so but wasn't 100% sure as I don't get under the car often.
Does anyone have any thoughts on the Mag-Hytec products?

looks good to me, kinda pricey. if all you want is a drain weld in a bung on the stock pan. but im guessing you want the larger capacity as well.

They can be ordered through other companies. Thought I'd get the thoughts of the experts before searching for cheapie prices. They seem like quality products and if I go for it I will probably get them powder coated a different color, at least the diff cover. Can you think of any reason a larger capacity would bad?

I'm using the B&M Finned cast aluminum pan - 3qts extra!
No problems for 3+ years and 50k miles.
I t has a drain plug and you can swap the OEM magnet over.

I bought an extra capacity (2 quarts) aluminum finned pan and other than taking a little longer to heat up (temps are identical to stock) it offers NO ADVANTAGE over stock except the drain plug!!!:shake: The extra capacity may extend change intervals but I see using 6 quarts when you drop the pan instead of 4 which only adds to the cost of the changes....IMHO!!!
Save your $$'s for something more effective like a trans cooler.....weld a bung in your stock pan and call it a day!!
