Ok i dont mind the stock shocks I have now but would like a little less floatynes? Any Ideas from those of you who have something besides stock? I loved my bilsteins in my vic but no go for the marauder! something close to that would be nice. appreciate it everyone. My mom and dad are running out of room at home because of all the crap I ordered for my marauder while I am deployed going to have a lot of work to do when I get home going to wait till then to buy shocks since they are short the room ha ha ha ( dad yelled last phone call "you and your dam@ cars stop getting shi#") thanks again scott.

If you got the money get Naake stuff, if not stock is just fine.

Naake is the hot ticket.

Don't think the Naake are worth the trouble. Sticking with stock myself. Don't notice any floatiness.

Maybe the shocks are just worn out? How many miles? Perhaps a new set of stock shocks will do the trick.

Trouble??? As in???

Mr Man was researching this topic a while back and based on what he found it seemed like it wasn't worth the trouble. I know one of our members had issues with the powder coating and others had problems with the proper lengths needed. There also seems to be a squeaking issue with some members shocks. I'll stick with the original equipment as they have given me almost 100K trouble free miles.

The same member had and issue with the powder coating on the front springs and the squeaking, he had the springs re-coated and the shocks rebuilt, both problems were solved.

In reference to the proper length, I believe what you are referring to is the bottom mounts on the rear shocks, there were 2 different sizes between the 2 years the car was offered, one would actually have to take a measurement before ordering the shocks in question. Not a big deal, but still one would think that it would be the same measurement between the 2 years.

But in all honesty, any time you start adapting parts to a car or installing high perfomance parts, you open yourself up to quirks, mine is not a DD, if I have an issue, it can sit while it gets worked out. If you are planning on making this daily transportation, you may want to steer clear of parts that could potentially cause you to be standed/broke down/irritated by their little quirks.

OEM will always be the best fit and offer stock performance that was offered from the factory. But if you want to go that extra mile, and have a specific part, adaptation is your friend..... as is duct tape and a large hammer. :D

I have well over 200K miles on my OEM shocks and they still seem to work fine....no floating and rock solid cornering.....LUCKY or just high quality...beats me??

I also got 147K miles on my OEM brakes and they would have gone to 200K but I have never gotten that kind of service from OEM stuff sooooo....I bought new OEM replacement brakes and they fit and work fine!!!:bows:

OEM for me on these parts since the car performs GREAT and I seriously doubt I could feel any improvement (if any) with my driving style??:shake:

Qirkiness is fine for you guys that know what the hell you're doing when something goes wrong Spectragod. LOL! :D Although mine is no longer a DD, I feel safer sticking with any of the OEM parts that (so far) are working great. Shocks fall into this catagory for me. And BTW, I've been pretty happy with the OEM brakes too. (but will prolly change them out for something else.) JMHO

And while that is fine for some, others want it all...... guess which group I fall into?

I think the problem with Naake is they have a set up for MM's and when you order them they should have everything you need in the box, especially considering the price. There should be no reason to measure things. You tell them what you got, they send you what you need, simple. I realise sometimes there can be a bad part but from reading all the posts I could find they seemed like more hassle than I would be willing to deal with, especially since the OEM's are very good. I don't understand what some of you are saying about Naake Q1s. I know of one member who had a problem & it was repaired. As for how a high dollar mods should be just a bolt on. If you feel that way stick with oem parts. This is why they call performance parts modifications. I have them and they work just fine if set up properly. They make your car handle far superior to oem. As for size as mentioned the Maraudrer 03 & 04 have two different sizes for the lower mount on the control arm & rear bottom shock mount. For this reason width & bolt size & length are not the same & do need to be measured.

^^^^^^^^^Exactly, I had to mod parts when I put the Trilogy on the MM, granted it didn't require a lot of modification, but adjustments for fitment are required. As it was for my Wilwoods on the rear, that's how hot rodding is. Besides, I love a challenge....

I have KYB's all around. I am very happy with them. Have you changed out your control arms? They make a world of difference if you get good ones. Mine are Z&M's. What a difference in cornering.

My OEM rear shocks crapped out on me at 37,000 miles. They leaked their fluid. Replaced with Monroe, but now at 97,000 miles, I have severe body lean whilst cornering.

Something I need to look into this coming Spring.

I'm considering these for my 04 CV Sport - what's the best shop to order them from? My stock shocks are finally toast at 97k miles.
