A buddy of mine has a 94 Mustang that was an automatic V-6, he transplanted a 96 GT drive train (motor, auto trans, rear, front suspension, exhaust, GT computer. The whole kit and kaboodle in this thing, all components came from one donor car. I flashed his computer with my sniper to eliminate PATS and give it some more HP.

He is getting a code P0709 which is a Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Intermittent. The car appears to be fine, but this code keeps popping up. This was before I flashed it as well.

My guess is the trans harness is slightly different and there may be a pin screw up somewhere. Any Ideas? I may scoot over to the Mustang forums, but I figured I would ask here first because many of you had Mustangs.

Thanks for any help you can offer.. Richy

doesn't that circuit run through the neutral safety switch?

If it's intermittent, try adjusting the linkage or maybe the neutral/shifter position switch.

Ok so this is related to the shifter (neutral safety switch)??

If it's intermittent, try adjusting the linkage or maybe the neutral/shifter position switch.

+1 on the misadjusted linkage for an intermittent problem.
