Now this should be averaged under normal driving condition.

I only ask because I just filled my tank from the half way point and when I went to reset the trip it said 140mi. Now I thought this was good... Till I did the math and figured out I was getting 16.77mpg roughly.

I am curious to what everyone else is getting.

How many gallons do we hold in our cars?

WOW, you're getting 10 MPG, I judge my economy on how many tanks I get to a set of rear tires. :D :burnout:

16-18 MPG around town is about my average. Less if traffic gets stalled. Long trips on the highway like to Indianapolis, IN for MV7, I get 24.5 MPG.

I think we have a 19 gallon tank. Most I have put in is just under 17 gallons.

Well even though I drive on the "hard" side it seems I'm getting about average then.... I was worried for a minute. I was like "I just had a complete tune up how can I only be getting 16mpg". 25$ for half a tank is crazy! 25$ in my other car will fill the tank, Not to mention I get around 20-25mpg in the city (When I stay out of the +side of the boost gauge haha)

Thanks. I figured that was around what we have. I don't let mine get below a qtr of a tank before filling back up. When on the highway cruising at 78 mph I went 320 miles and needle was on qtr of a tank. That was driving home from Jacksonville after picking car up from Dennis. I took it easy for that leg but had fun after filling back up and going the last 80 miles to the house.:D

Since we're talking about a Grand Marquis, my Grand Marquis got 20mpg on a 50/50 city/hwy.

Best was almost 27mpg on a trip to VA one time, A/C on and 70-80mph.

Worst was 17mpg while hot rodding through a mountainous Pennsylvania countryside.

Yea but don't forget, I do not have a Marquis tune. My PCM is the same as a Mustang... Now I know the engine is the same 2v but I'm pretty sure the OE tune is different.

Like someone brought up in one of my other threads "The Mustang is a lighter chassis so it can run more timing, Yours is a heavy boat!"

The best I have had for a tank was 26 avg, highway with lots of down hill coasting. But regularly get around 15 combined.

My dad's '03 GT gets 21mpg consistently, for reference.

MPG is not my thing! Did not buy the MM for MPG, but to run fast and strong.

But for the record my other Ford products - my DD Ranger V-6 5 speed gets 23 mpg at 250,000 miles, F150 4.6 tow truck - 17 mpg at 230,000 miles and T-Bird 4.6 - 20 mpg.

Prior to my last tune it was around 12, now it's closer to 16. Mostly highway, around town it's worse. Of course it's near impossible to not get into it just a little bit when passing. It IMMEDIATELY jumps from 75-80 to 100+. Rolling into the throttle without a downshift, not stomping it.

My mileage is when I get to a quarter of a tank...fill'er up. I used to worry about mileage, then realized, whatever mileage I get I still have to put gas in the tank. My mileage goes down after a mod. Still enjoying the novelty of my Addco bars. :drive:

I seem to average a tad over 300 km per fill up, mixed about 60/40 city/hwy driving. A fill up is usually about 60 litres. That's about 20 L per 100 km, or about 12 mpg, running Zack's 93 octane tune, and everything else stock.

Not sure if you're asking about a grand marquis or a Marauder?

For my Marauder, I get 18 mixed, 20-22 highway depending on how badly I am speeding, usually closer to 20. I've had several tunes and none have affected my MPG vs each other. I only drove my Marauder with a stock tune for about a month (I would hope everyone else who bought this car in the past few years when tunes were readily available, was the same way) so I have no idea what the mpg was stock

I couldn't have tolerated it, it drove soooo bad with the stock trans tune I thought I was driving a town car except at total WOT when it would actually hold some rpms.

The best I've had so far is 22mpg I average 18.25mpg, but if I get into a heated highway run for some miles... It drops to 10mpg.

19.24 gallons of 93 octane make me think twice before punching it.

Marauderjack
12-07-2009, 04:11 PM
I drove A LOT of highway miles N/A and got 22-24 MPG at 75-78 MPH!!:bows: Around town it was 17-19 MPG!!

The ProCharger install knocked the highway down to 21-22 and the around town stayed about the same until the DAMN ethanol was put in the gas around here!!!:mad2: It killed my around town.....now 15-16 or so.....but it recently went back up so I guess they are putting the ethanol back in more profitable products LIKE BOOZE!!!:D

It still amazes me that these big ole cars get what they do.....especially mine with over 200K miles on the clock!!

This is by far the MOST fuel efficient car I ever bought. Better than my Taurus. Someone on here asked about the tank size, It's the same on all Panthers " 19.9 Gallons "

On the highway (I-95 :) ) last summer I drove to Newport News, VA while it was raining with the A/C on Low and Cruise Control set to 70 mph, I got an astonishing 27 MPG!!!!!. When I got back home It was a dry Saturday night and I went through the city Showing off and spinning tires and acting the fool all night, got 13 MPG

Paul

Around town it's 13-15 mpg depending on driving style. Don't do much highway, but it's prob. in low 20's.
