I bet before the police department sent it off, some brother in blue wanted the Marauder wheels for his patrol car.. I wish my department had that Marauder, we get our ass handed to us in the Chevy Impala. We can not stay with any vehicle in a vehicle chase...

make a good track car, if the price is right, then you have a lot of spare parts.

LOL that thing is f'd. That answers my question of what a push bar looks like on a Marauder. That is a CVN themed Marauder if I've ever seen one.

No kennel in the back, just solid door panels. I know Bob, I can call him and ask what he wants for the turd.

I just talked to Bob. He just got it in and hasn't had a chance to service it yet besides $900.00 in tires alone. It was a Montana Sheriff's car and it will be priced somewhere around $10,000.00 depending on what else he needs to put in to it....

thats too much for a track car no matter how you look at it.

That cage and door system is for canine use ... also confirmed by designator decal at the middle of rear window at the bottom. I would appreciate it as pictured for immediate use @ work ...

Uhhhh no, that is a regular Pro-Guard partition, no doggie door in it, there is no insert in the back of the car, the back seat is installed in the car. It may have been a K-9 @ one time, but not now.
Still a POS, I wouldn't drive it on a bet.

These cars are too rare and valuable to be wasted like this. Especially when a crown vic can do basically the same job.

^I agree about not violating them but what Marauder resale prices are you looking at that indicate they are valuable? I'm having a hard time myself, keeping my exclusive Marauder-only snobby attitude with the prices falling so steeply

THAT IS SAD *****! ABSOLUTLY GROSS!
As far as value though these are very unique cars and they are definetly directed @ a dying niche market. That said, there are still those of us that do like a full size sedan with that sort of '70's muscle car look. There are still people willing to spend money on these, i think the biggest problem is not many have the cash to buy outright and loans are tough to come by for a car thats 6-7 years old...just my opinion.
Big Black Beast
12-11-2009, 01:40 PM
Okay, rare then. 11,000 (+-) Marauders vs 10 billion CV/GM's.
And mine is valuable to me, therefore, by extension, so is everybody elses.

I guess the real kicker is between book value and collector/appreciator value.
A LOT of amazing collectible cars throughout history are sold for cheap, and they are exceedingly rare to find in good shape and are in exceedingly small numbers.

Hey Just Bob! I'm surprised he put all those pics up while it's still so NARLY lookin'!! But yeah, 10 Grand is WAY beyond what that'd be worth!! Let us know IF you get to look at it once he cleans it up! WHAT kind of tires is putting on it that it's nearly a Grand in those alone??? (That would make a WILD Track car!! LOL!)

gotta love Baltimore.
gotta love PG too, the infamous Wimpalas can't catch anything they attempt to chase. When I got pulled over by one back in October I started to dust him but I let it slide, he told me he was happy I stopped and said "I was not even going to chase you and you're driving this". So he gave me a break
The car is listed as an 03 P-71 :shake:

i was going to buy a very sweet 04 p71 from that place. i have been there many times looking at the cars they have. when i was looking at the 04 p71 i told him i really wanted a marauder and he told me they are nice but good luck on finding one that you can afford. so when i bought my marauder i went out there and he was speachless and said guess you dont need the vic now. they also did a lot of movie cars for the last batman movie. last time i was there the explorer from the batman movie was there it looked sweet but i think its at volo auto museum now. thats just about all i know about that place.

You know, when I was driving down I-75 in Florida back in september I saw a local PD with a Marauder as a patrol vehicle running radar in the center divide. Lightbars and all...forgive my ignorance but could P71 even be in the VIN of a Marauder? I'm sure some of you might be saddened to read this and will try to talk me out of it, but I'm interested in this vehicle.

A. no, P71 is for the crown vic police interceptor only, nothing else
B. Go ahead and buy it, someone has to... Its not going to be a "collectible" like you want it to be though, its just going to be a beat ass marauder....

This is true about the collectability of it. I was looking at it from more of a standpoint of at one point in time I was interested in buying a used police car, not to pretend like I'm a cop, but I just like the look of the car. So in my mind this was a happy medium between the two.

Apparently you missed the thread about the FHP cars where quite a few people insisted the extra holes and abuse the car took under police trim makes it worth MORE. That's when I started planning on driving my car off of the San Francisco Bay Bridge. I mean if police service makes the car worth more than salt water damage will be a fast track to the big money.

Everybody on this site hopes marauders are valuable one way or another, just covering up the depreciating resale value, you should know this as a contributing forum member reading various threads.

SOMEONE's gotta buy it, so why not you?? It'll be a conversation piece that's for sure! Anyone know what they're really asking in price for this now?? Middle of this BAD WINTER vehicles like this are a real HARD sell!!

No man, don't bring this back to full Marauder trim. Clean it up, detail it, maybe fix some dents and paint, but leave it in patrol car trim. Not to be a wannabe, but this would make a great car for shows and cruises. Price has to be lower than 10K, sure, but this represents a piece of Marauder history and should be preserved as such!
If you really wanted to, you could do performance mods on it and make some runs at the track. That would be fun and an attention getter when a otherwise regular looking police car pulls up next to somebody, doesn a burnout, then smokes em down the quarter mile!

:burnout:what he said! I like it! This WOULD be a pretty cool conversation piece cleaned up but left in somewhat of it's "WildWest Status" almost 'the General Lee' of Marauders...yet one more for the Legends of Yore associated with these great cars. BIZARRE though that they didn't respond to your inquiries at all  :(
