Ever since I saw the Marauder at the Chicago Auto Show before it's production, it always felt like "my Eleanor." It's one of the few vehicles I see on the road and get excited about.. it's part of a list that includes the NSX, Isuzu Vehicross (don't ask:shake:), and some exotics. I could stare at the car all day long. Not one exterior modifications needed... except some tint.

I will be in the market next year for a Black 2004, flint interior if I can find it. The wife is sorta anti-black interiors (I have no preference). We have our first kid on the way (ETA July '10) so I was happy when I saw MM's have the LATCH system.

I'm coming from a lifted 2000 GMC, so a car like this will be a dream to drive. I still haven't driven a Marauder yet though; sat in them, but have yet to push the pedals.

Here's what will be for sale next year. It will be quite a big change!

10ft high-visibilty flags are needed on vehicles at offroad parks. Those pictures were taken at Silver Lake Dunes in MI.
I'll miss offroading, but the braver you get, the more expensive it gets too.

I never thought about trading. I figured there are not too many people looking to go from a luxury sport sedan to a lifted short-bed pickup.
FYI, you think the Marauder can get bad gas mileage! HA! :puke:

I'd consider your offer, but the color you bring to the table is not for me. And I'm not about to start a color war on here either!
I fear taking care of a black car, but it appeals to me more than the DTR.

I hope you get your car. If you want to push the pedals in one and find yourself up in Canada give me a buzz, you can push the pedals in mine.

Since I got mine about two weeks ago a lot of fellow car guys have had the opportunity to finally take one for a spin. I'll miss it as I am storing it for the winter this Friday. Very nice truck by the way!

Yep, in 2003 only 115 of 7,093 (1.6%) were Black MMs with Light Flint. 156 of 1,237 in 2004. So you are looking for about 1 in 271 total. Good luck.

Wow, I hadn't looked up the statistics on that combo yet, but that is a little rarer than I thought!

Let's just say I won't turn down a black/black if it is under 50K miles for <$15k.

This is getting to be a pretty rare item as well.

I have been noticing that. I am willing to travel to anywhere, especially to the west coast, so that should broaden my search. I have family in the Colorado area so it would be great if I can tie in buying the car and visiting them all in to one vacation. I've never done a 1,000+ mile drive across the country before.:cool4:

If you'regoing to make a 1,000 mile drive, a Marauder's a great car to do it in. :D

Have you checked out the "cars for sale" thread here on the site? Also e-bay and craigslist are a good resource.

My thoughts exactly.:banana:Probably the best way to learn about a new car.

Checked out the "cars for sale" thread here, autotrader (some questionable ones (2 cheap ones and they being sold through a dealer... seems too good to be true)), not many on ebay if I remeber correctly. It's not a habit for me to check Craigslist for cars. That will soon have to change.

Thanks!

Nice.
If you don't mind me asking, for how much and how far did you have to go to get it?

Bought it in town, used car lot, about 3 miles, paid 10,500, they wanted 11,998. first noticed in Marauder sightings forum, titled "Auto Auction Springfield, Mo" Dealer paid 9100 at auction. Needed Tires all way round, 750.00, alignment according to Carfixer, 69.50, all fluids and filter changes at the dealer, 350.00, TTL and two year registration 720.00 Total:12,389.50. Edmonds said about 12,001. Really didn't matter I've wanted one since they came out

Sounds like you got a good deal.
It just surprises me that the 2003 models go for so much less than the 2004 models. Maybe I should consider the 2003 models too... I read on here that the 2004's are worth the money if you can afford it, and that they are the better of the two years if you plan on keeping it stock.

When the right one comes along in a couple months, I may not worry about the year because I'm impatient and limited for time.:P

When you find it jump on it, they ARE getting scarce. Edmonds, NADA, KBB, just a guide, doesn't take into consideration, collectible, scarcity. As far as 03 vs 04, there was some problems with early model 03's (300A) Later (300B) better, and what I can tell with my limited knowledge 04, best, but there are members here that can give you better analysis as I have only driven this one.

Nice one in Michigan:

I have a 04, I did not find it, "It found ME". 04's had a different transmission than the 03, 03's have the 4R70W trans found in Crown Vics and 04's have the 4R75W from the 98 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC. It has improvements in the internals. From what I've experienced, at wide open throttle, the rear tires on the 03's will bark more than on the 04's. Not sure as to why. As you may know 04's are the rarest and for 03 Black is the color you'll find easiest, only a few hundred (i think 400 or so) are silver birch and 327 are dark blue pearl. Light flint interiors, I wanted that as well but I could not wait. Good luck with finding one of these rare beasts and congrads on the family.

Atleast you got the right exterior color! Just be sure to find a 300A as a first choice the 300B lost alot of features. Do a search within the site and find out for yourself. BTW the latch equipment on the car was the final factor for me back in 03 when I purchaced mine new, my kid is safe. :D

Thanks for all the enough, guys.

That one in MI seems almost too good to be true. What I have noticed, if the price and miles are low, the vehicle has either had a wreck or theft damage.
I'm also keeping my 4x4 through the winter/snow, so unless that car is stilla round when I'm ready, I've gotta let it pass.
