Many Lightning owners love them. Heard they wear like iron, are good in any weather but give up a little in the traction department.

Nice! what width you going with? Who's doing the work?

This is a ready good find. The Hankook tire is now a very good alternative to the Nitto 295x45x28 tire on widened rims for us SC guys. The Nittos were OK, but expensive at $238 compared to the Hankook's $155 - nice savings on two tires. Anyone own Nittos and then switch to the Hankook. I would be very interested in your comparsion comments.
Good Job.

I've had these for 2 years. Won the widening, by Weldcraft, in one of the Woodward Dream Cruise raffles. Need new front tires so now I'm putting the 255/55/18 rears on the front and going with the widened rims on the rear.

Is there a matching front size? One reason I use Nittos (besides their great performance) is the fact they have a matching tire I can use on the front.

There is a Hankook Ventus AS RH07 in 255/55/18 (I have a set on the rear). Same speed rating (V), treadwear, traction, etc.

What specifically do you mean .."give up a little in the traction department"
as compared to what or other details --please.

I may be just the candidate for your question regarding switching ....after I see fastblackmerc set up, assuming he buys

I too have a concern about this^^^^ as well. My Nittos are wearing like iron .....What is the "deal" with running different treads on back vs front anyway.....there must be a reason.

Lightning guys agree that they are not a good tire to "take to the track", no matter the tire pressure. Also on the street they dont hook as well as the Nittos, but this is on the Lightning--not much weight in the back, leaf spring suspension, torque probably comes in stronger and quicker due to the 5.4--so it will probably differ on the MM somewhat. I would say it would be a all around great tire for the MM:)

My 295 Nittos are useless for street racing now. They just go up in smoke with little effort so even a little less traction from the Hankook is OK. I'm looking for just a good 295x45x18 street tire at a good price.

I had clearance issues with 255/55s in the front, let me know how this works out.

I am also looking for a possible replacement ..for later on...seems fastblackmerc may have the answer....and the price seems great! If he pulls the trigger , we may soon have our answer.
