Hi all,
Looks like I might need to replace my alternator.
I am looking on autozone.com since I am in Guam and they ship free to FPO/AP addresses it is a place that I buy from often. (rockauto and autopartsgiant rock too!)

anyways, at the autozone page they show basically three different alternators:
stock non-police package (130 amps)
police package without high output (130 amps)
police package with high out put (175 amps)

To cut those who think I want to modify and install a 200 amp alternator short, I dont want that, I want a direct bolt on for while I am still out here in Guam. Not alot of support facilities out here...

What I am curious is:
Is there one or more of us here who have went with the high output alternator from autozone?
Does it bolt directly on?
Any inputs on if it is worth it? (I do run two JL10W6's and a rather large amp with a cap- so I can imagine the extra capacity is in order for me).

thanks in advance!
Curt

It does not fit! The back end is extended and would have to go into where your intake is allready taking space!

Dennis Reinhart carries (or can get) a 200 amp alternator that is a plug-and-play replacement for the stock unit. I've had mine a year and love it.

Even if it did fit if I remember right I bought one last year for my cv and it was like $375, not worth it. Db electrical on ebay sells them for $220 and I've heard nothing but good things about them.
