A few weeks ago I posted an "error code" thread. It was air bag light 43.
Well the dealer robbed me of 263.00 driver side impact sensor shorted "they said":mad2:. OK light reset. Last night I started it up and now my air bag light is flashing 44. What gives has anybody had this problem, and now whats 44 mean. Thanks again in advance.:)

Never heard of anyone having this problem before.
Was the car ever in any type of accident?

44 RH Crash Sensor - Not Mounted to Vehicle Properly

Before you waste more money at the dealer, see if the sensor is tilted or loose...or unplugged.

*EDIT*

Interesting...there is no code 43 for airbags...you sure it wasn't code 45? That one applies to the driver's side crash sensor...

Yes it was the drivers side impact sensor. I'm pretty sure it was 43? And the car has never been in a accident, and has 11,000 on the clock. It is funny though, how first it was driver and now it is passenger. I have the new sensor and it is heavy duty and there's now way that caused my first problem. That's how I caught the dealer in a lie, if it was the sensor at the first start up the light would of come back on even if you reset it with the dealers computer "because it's safety".

I just ment, it's metal and directional, tells you witch way to mount it forward. And it is an open circuit on a ohm meter, I would assume it would take a hard slam to close it and start the air bag deployment process. How could it be "shorted out". Sorry for the mix up......:D

I believe these sensors are some kind of electronic accelerometer circuit that kicks in at a "safety" amount of deceleration in a specific direction.....
