I think Northern Virginia is headed toward 24". I estimate that we have 12"-14" already. I have been outside about once an hour to do some shovelling since 6 AM and can't keep up with it. Just a path to the street along the driveway. Still coming down very heavily at about 2" per hour. If this keeps up until 8 PM tonight, tomorrow will be a work day in the driveway.

So far so good on the new HVAC system that went in on Wednesday. It is working great.

I just shoveled my front porch and a path to the street...I'm guess-timating 11" so far.
It's hard to tell because the wind is blowing hard and there are lots of drifts!

Here are a few pictures that I shot earlier today:

Marauder buried under snow...at least it has a car cover.

Bird Feeder on back porch is popular.

Waiting for their turn at the feeder and heated bird bath.

No stuck at home for me. The diesel excursion does great! I built an igloo for the girls and have been drivin around with a tow strap pullin people outta the deep stuff they like to drive into.

We had about 10-12 inches of heavy wet snow mixed with frozen rain/ice. I've been inside drywalling the living room renovation. Had one of the grandkids try to shovel my 150 foot driveway (Christmas shopping money). Very good effort but I'll be out there tomorrow ;)

I haven't measured but looks like 18-20 inches here in Herndon, VA. My Tbird is under a cover parked in the street and has disappeared. You cannot see any of the cover anymore and the drifts on the sides are up to the windows. The MM is sitting in the driveway undisturbed so far.

The accumulation on the Marauder is just as high as the excursion.

There's a Bird or 2 under there somewhere.

Accumulation on the deck rail, not sure exactly how much we got cause I can't find the tape measure.

The Marauder is safely tucked away in the garage today. We had around 18-20" here in Perry Hall. I shoveled the driveway and steps to the house, but its all in vain. Totally snowed in again! Only time I left the house was to do some donuts in the WRX. Funny driving around in the Subaru and only seeing another Subaru, Hummer, Ford F150, and snow plows on the road. Hope everyone is staying off the roads unless you have some serious AWD. Be safe this weekend!

We're still waiting on Cape Cod. Not a drop, yet the radar has shown precipitation since this morning. Blackbird got her car cover on this afternoon. First time wearing it and it fits nicely and looks loverly.

Checked again....a few flakes are floating down.

We skated past this one! Thought the heaviest snow would happen over night but woke up to pretty much what we had at midnight.....about 4-5 inches on the ground, and nothing more coming down. The roads are clear, and i hope enough sticks around to give us a white Christmas!
How did the rest of you guys make out?

Yeah, about 20" for me. Took 9 hours of shovelling to open up the driveway to the street. Now to deal with the ice. I am done for today. :D

Well we had 25" here outside of Waldorf. Of course I didn't see any of it until I got home from Omaha last night. Had no problems getting back into Reagan National or driving home last night. Since the federal government "inside the beltway" had off today, my commute up to the BWI area was a breeze.

The wife just hibernated on Saturday and Sunday, making pound cake and Christmas cookies. Our neighbor plowed our driveway a couple times throughout Saturday and Sunday, so I had minimal snow removal this evening.

The MM has been resting comfortably in the heated garage.

Wait til you start working on that 3 foot ridge the plow pushed up at the end of your driveway. Got mine while it was not frozen over yet. This time I put the wife AND my daughter to work. :o Chivalry only goes so far. I figure 12 inches is the limit.
