Hi,

This is just a shot in the dark but...

At work, I've been checking out the big boss's rims lately.

He has an 03 Lincoln navigator. They look pretty tall.

I was wondering if any of the other FMC products (what size are town car rims nowadays?) can be used as a source of nice winter or knock around wheels for a marauder.

I can find nothing in our parts computer that would work. The Navigator rims are 6 lug!!!!! There is nothing else with 18" rims!!!

Theres a plethora of FMC wheels that will bolt onto a MM. They are the standard Ford 5x4 1/2" bolt pattern so wheel choices should be abundant.

The bolt pattern isn't the problem, it's the correct back spacing/offset

I'm using Racing I rims that are 17" x 7.5" with Dunlop S + P snows for winter. The guy who found them for me said clearance for the brake calipers was the biggest challenge in his search.

Hi Roy,

Do you know the offset & width for the towncar 17"?

Curious... what about the after market look-a-like rims you see in the mustang magizines?
They come in sizes 17 thru 20 tall and 7-10 wide.
Does any body know what the back spacing is on them?
Bullet or cobra wheels might look nice on the Marauder and are cheaper to replace than ours.

I did a search for wheel back spacing. I found 6.56" for back space. I also found 50mm for offset,.. anyone care to explain the difference?

Offset is the distance from the centerline of the rim to the flange of the mounting plate on the wheel. A 50mm offset means the mounting plate is offset 5 cm from center.

A 6.5" backspace (Rear spacing on the diagram below) indicates that the mount flange is 6.5" from the edge of the rim.

Here... This'll explain it better.

Jay,
The Town Car wheel is a 17" x 7". The backspacing should be the same as the the platform is shared with our beloved MM, CV and GM. Another wheel to consider is on the Crown Victoria Sport. It measures 17" x 7 1/2".

Just adding on another .02

Along similiar lines, I was thinking the new Mach rims would look sweet.

Well those are a few options

Mach 1
03 CVsport
03Town car

The towncar is probably the cheapest/easiest to find (I'm thinking salvage here) but is only 7"

Anyone know how to find the offsets?

if anyone finds anything in 18 x 8, 8.5, or 9 inch rims, please let us all know. This topic has been run to ground several times. There are no cheap rims that work with our odd combination of offset and backspace. There are a few folks who will make you rims, Fikse, and others, but now your getting to $500-$1000 each rim depending on style.

Good luck.
