You may be a little low for your current mods, I would expect you to be making around 240-245 but you're still pretty close. Header choices is like ice cream. Chocolate/vanilla, which is better?
I like long tubes.

235 rwhp is where I was at bone stock. I added all your mods and then went with the Kooks LTs. I then added the Trilogy and all is right with the world:)

I was forced to buy FRPP shorties and the matching Magnaflow Cobra Hi-flow X-pipe with rear CATS deleted. Wouldn't recommend it - I only pulled 443 RWHP and run only 11.80s in the quarter. You should spend $2,000 for LT exhaust kits and gain another 20HP - your best deal :shake:.

They both perform about the same but the SW are easier to install and provides clearance for the starter.

you dont need the lead pipes but as far as i know the SW headers wont bolt right to the factory exhaust w/o some trimming and welding...
Might be easier to get them?

You'll need the lead pipes to bolt up to the factory exhaust. I am pretty sure your location will not require cats. That should make them just a touch less expensive.

Mine bolted right up, no trimming, bending, adjusting, they clear everything. It took less than 5 hours to install them with the cats.

that make the lead pipe important
i heard from some guys that LTs is good for supercharger marauder and the shorty one is better for N/A marauder
i think they said that because of the pressure in the exhaust, i cant remember what they said exactly
so what do you think of that

Then yeah i'd see no issue with it bolting up to the factory h pipe...
But i mean if anyone tried to just do headers and leave the rest of the factory exhaust, some cutting would have to take place

it would be pointless to even attempt to try and reuse the stock mid pipes.

The stock exhaust is a mismash of diameters.... 2", 2.25" & 2.5" I believe.
If your going to do an exhaust do the whole thing with at least 2.5" all the way.

Truth. when I went to 3" I left the tail section at 2.5" no point in spending the money, unless you really want to to all look the same under the car

lol it wont work, unless you cut into pieces. the headers come down about a foot more then the manifolds.

dude seriously? this is the funniest thing you have posted yet. not ONE post in that thread says anything about how shorties are better. in fact, there is only one post that even mentions them! the reason they said that they arnt worth it is because they are a real SOB to install on a mustang.
:stupid:

You need to read it again - brush up on your English. Regardless of the reason many hi-powered Mustang owners said the LTs are not worth it. This is not a shorties vs. LT post.
Owners are running 500-600 HP Mustangs and don't think LTs are worth it and are using STOCK manifolds - that's the point.

You know why nothing you say is accurate? because you compare apples and oranges constantly... in a mustang do you know the pain you have to go through to get LTs installed on those cars? People are saying don't bother because it is a MAJOR PITA, plus they have the option of swaping out their Eatons for KB blowers. You either spend a weekend busting up your hands or drop the dang motor, it's silly. In our cars it's a few hour deal and you're out.
You can make lots of power with stock manifolds sure, but you make more with LTs period. So what mustang owners think who can do a couple hour blower swap for massive gains for a couple grand more vs. an 18hour exhaust swap... Really doesn't mean anything at all that's a pretty different choice :shake:
I picked up 8mph in the 1/4 with long tubes only, that's prob close to 80hp, and now run an 11.9@117 running the one of the biggest pullies on my blower making all of 9psi.
Could I have picked up 80hp without the LTs? sure. Smaller pulley, but with a smaller pulley you have more heat, more likely to have belt slip etc etc. Not a bad way to go either, just different.
PS which post there is by someone with a high HP car? the highest I saw was under 500 at the wheels... through a manual... that's really not a lot at all

You know the only way you will ever prove a point is to do a dyno run of shorties and long tubes....
then maybe you'll see that shorties aren't worth it unless you are talking ease of install

I won't disagree with you, but I've done LTs on an 03 Cobra with a 2.3 whipple and it made only a couple more hp. Defintely not worth the money and time. On a centri charged Motor I would only go with LTs as they help pre-boost power/tq. With a PD blower thought they just aren't worth it.
To answer the OPs question, n/a combos where max power is wanted he should go with LTs. If he's happy with a little less hp but keeping a lot more money in his pocket, the shorty headers will work fine.
