Sweet car. You need a camera deflecting clear plate.
Looks like you got caught on new york ave.

Sweet car. You need a camera deflecting clear plate.
Or that spray that you spray over the plate and lasts for 6 months

That does suck!
Last year, I got busted going in on New York Avenue right by the National Arboretum entrance...
where the speed limit drops from something like 50 mph to 30 mph.
Guess where they had their crappy speed camera van set up??......:mad2:

They don't do points for cameras, though, do they? Just the fine?

I got one just like that. I went to the Falcon club Nationals in Dover. about a week later there it was in the mailbox.

Very nice pics of your car. ;) Suitable for mounting and framing. Sorry for your bad luck. Your "DC Sux" plate is right on the money.
I estimate that you were doing closer to 48 MPH (instead of the 49 MPH on the metadata on the photo). Looks like the hash marks are spaced at about 5 feet and the caught you exactly in the "framed" window. In the 2/10's of a second between photos, you travelled about 14 feet. That is 70 feet per second or 47.7 MPH. Of course, my eyeball may be off that 4 inches need to bring you up to 49 MPH. :o Seems pretty accurate to me.

Thats sucks! So far around here it is mostly just red light camera's and even though they have signs everywhere to warn you it is still nerve wrecking to drive through!

My 4 inch tips may have tricked the camera into thinking I was going faster, they look tuff when speeding.. LOL No points, the fine was 50 bucks. Next time I will do 100 and get my moneys worth.
I was in DC for a close friends appointment as the Director of Interpol. Had a great time so it was worth it, but people from MD and VA can't drive for shat. Except if they are in a Marauder or GT Stang.. LOL

LOL People with real cars are usually your true Drivers. I got flashed on New Hampshire Ave going into Silver Spring right at the Montgomery County line. Never got the ticket, :banana2:Drove too fast, my Radar detector picks them up too. Gotta love it, especially on I-295, they have big dumb a$$ vans sitting on the shoulder waiting for people. They are ALL over the freakin City. East Capitol by the overpass, NewYork Ave, Benning RD, Southern Ave, Eastern Ave, S-Dakota Ave, etc......

I'm not ever moving there.
Doesn't D.C have a pretty major crime problem?
Too bad concentrating on that doesn't make money...

No points because they cannot prove whom was driving the car.
I have never understood why folks that live and drive in area where cameras are used regularly do not put the covers on their plates....or more simpply pay attention to the posted ordinance. :dunno:

Sorry you got a ticket. There is absolutely no sport in getting a ticket like this. Police depts that use this system have no imagination. Like shooting a wild animal in a cage. It is only used as a revenue generating machine and I would think has very little effect on driving habits once the camera location is noted. JMHO

You got the wild animal part right, I did over a hundred down the NJ Turnpike trying to make time. :banana2: Usually I take my time but I was running late.. No prob on the ticket, its the first in a long time.. Not very sporting of them though..
Next time I will smoke em up in front of those vans..

Yes indeed...money, money, money.
I've always wanted to rent a car, put a cardboard cover over the license plate that read; FAW Q
Then go blazing through the camera trap with 2 buddies hangin' their butt cheeks out the windows,
while I 'flipped the bird' out of the driver's window.
I would gladly pay to see the expression on the person's face when they review those speed camera photos!...

It is not really that bad if you don't count murder, rape, assault, armed robbery, burglary, grand theft auto, fraud, corruption and jaywalking. ;)
It is really not too hard to understand why the DC Government needs more revenue since they are really clueless as to how much money they have on hand anyway. It's like a huge "cookie jar" that anybody can put their hand into for any reason at all. Just last year, they found out that the head of their DC Tax Office was using tax collections as her own personal slush fund to the tune of $40 Million. This has been going on for over 7 years and NO ONE knew. Every nook and cranny of the DC Government is corrupt.
On the plus side, you should be pleased that your DC ticket/fine is probably financing someone's vacation home at the beach.

Charlie,
I wouldn't be too hard on the DC Government....after all they learned from the best crooks ever known;
The United States Congress.

Caught me the same way about a month ago, but my fine was over a hundred dollars. They claimed I was doing 54 in a 30 - 35 zone.

LoL!
I have a friend that lives in a city that has photo red lights and mobile radar vans everywhere. I don't even like going there to visit him. Sometimes we have lunch and I make him meet me the next town over and we spend our money ELSEWHERE.

The US Congress doesn't even come close. DC Government is a joke. This is why I laugh everytime the issue of Statehood comes up. First the DC Government should prove that they are competent enough to host a Tupperware Party and then responsible enough to manage a Cub Scout Den. Those 2 hurdles alone should delay DC Statehood for another 50 years.
