My front shocks need replacing. 151,000 miles on em. I am debating for the factory shocks or getting something with a lower stance. If I got something lower what would I have to do to get the rear end balanced?
What do stock shocks cost? Any company I should look for or should I just go back to the dealer?
Right now I am leaning towards stock since Ford parts have never broken on me.
Thoughts, suggestions?

I like the lower stance for sure, what would I recommend... not sure on this, but I tell ya Chicago potholes scare me so I probably would go for factory.

Someone is trying to sell a set of Naakes right now for $500. Can't remember which site (sorry), but they are out there.

I would stick with Ford replacements as 151K is great wear in your area.(rough roads, driving style:0 )
Go with what works for you.

+1 to lower your car you would need to replace the springs.

In June stock front shocks cost me $145 each not including installation.

Should I replace the springs too?

I suggest finding a low mileage set of used ones with the springs intact from one of the wrecked Marauders out there. Quick & easy swap, and you already know how they perform and how long they last.
