While in Safeway last nite, I left car running to keep my father warm. I get back in and see the temp needle almost to H. It has always been at 30-40% Checked under the hood real quick, all looks good. I do not remeber if fan was running though. I drive away and in about 5 seconds the needle drops back to normal. Any thoughts?? Have these MM's had temp sensor issues or ???? BTW, I have had irradic heat output the last 2 weeks or so with no temp gauge issue til last night. And I had the wacky wipers and LCM issues that I have done nothing to yet.

Have you done anything to the cooling system recently (flush, re-fill, etc)?
If so, you may need to burp it to get any trapped air out.

That sounds like what you need to do.

Definitely air in the system. Crack open the crossover tube in front of the alternator with the engine running to release the air bubbles.

that's funny my f150 did the exact same thing today, I looked and the needle was allmost pinned out on H and the hot light was on. shut her off re started her and it dropped fast back to normal. and I have not touched the cooling system in about a year... maybe a stuck thermostat?
