Going to take the MM in next week for a few issues to be taken care of.

Been waiting a while to make the $50.00 deductible worthwhile :D ..

"Spongy" brake pedal.

Passenger rear door lock (doesn't unlock every time).

Windshield washer reservoir line disconnected under the car somewhere.

Wear spot on driver's seat (dye rubbing off).

Paint cracking on front fascia below driver's headlamp (repainted in Jan. '05). Expecting a fight on this one.

ESP runs out in Oct. 2010

32,900 miles.

:burnout:

Spongy brake pedal could just be brake fluid. They won't cover that. My old panther took 3 cans before it came out clear. Todd @ TCE has a great set of SS brake lines I think for $175. I am going to do those myself this next year...

Good luck with the other warranty items. I have only the basic care for power train ESP, has $100 deduct and I will get a free rental too if needed.

I have 56,xxx on mine now, just changed the oil with Amsoil 0w-20 yesterday...

Unfortunately ford esp will not cover trim or paint, but on the paint you may get some assistance from the service manger as long as the is no sign of you hitting something and your a regular customer. Start out nice if that gets you nothing take it out into the service lane and turn up the volume:argue:. The more customers onlooking the better, I have seen the same act played out many times and my manager always gives in. You probable won't get it for free but maybe half off. Good luck

I understand the paint is not covered under ESP.

The big issue is the dealership where I bought my MM was bought out by another dealership and they were the ones that did the paint in Jan. '05.

I have documentation that states lifetime guarantee for parts and labor and am sure they will fight me on this.

I am always polite at first and have been known to get loud if things don't go my way.

;)

The "spongy" brake pedal can be corrected if I put it in park and press hard on the pedal about 5 times.

This will make the brakes feel much better and more firm.

Never been able to figure this one out

If they bought them out and you have paperwork you should be good, if all the other areas they painted are good they may have not added enough flexing agent. The spongy pedal is just as babbage said, just some air in the brake system. Will not be covered unless they find a leak. You could pay the dealer to flush it or you and a friend could do it for the price of some brake fluid. If your not sure how to do it I could tell you it's easy.

The only part of the car painted was the fascia due to being hit by a teenager 3 months after I took ownership. :(

I will definately take the paperwork with me showing the work performed on the car.

Bleeeding brakes I have done many times, but while it's in there and depending on what they charge, I may just go ahead and have them do it.

You may want to try and engage the ABS and see if to spongy feel goes away, it may be an air pocket near the ABS pump.
