as most of you know i totaled my ride 11/25/09.
on 12/24/09 i purshased a '03 300a vortech s/c with 50k miles, drove the car and fell inlove with it.
it has stage 2 BC automotive trans and triple plate converter, rebuild rearend with 4.10s and stock axles. right now i have the car parked at my job because i havent tag it yet.
things that bothered me:
no gauges for fuel press, trans cooling, or boost.
(i need some if any of you have any of those for sale let me know.)
its got toyos 285/50/18s in rear, on stock sized wheels, they make the car look like a 1970's and 80's dragcar.:shake:
tome to start transforming the car to my standards.
i will need some help from you guys since i ont know the pros and cons of a centrifugal s/c car.
Thanks

Congrats! Shame on you for posting without pics! :D Centris give you boost faster and equally througout the power band. Cons, which one is it? How many miles on the blower? How many PSI? Big enough blow off valve, was it a kit or put together piece by piece? I'm jealous!

If the tires are in good shape and you wanna part with them I have Dunlop 255/55/18s on mine I believe. They are still in good shape.
I like the look of the huge tire. Let me know if you are interested.

Centris give you boost faster and equally througout the power band. Actually, centrifugal superchargers have lower boost at low RPMs and increase boost as RPMs increase, kind of like a turbo.
Roots-type blowers behave as you described.

I know it has less at low RPMs, but, I was under the impression that they got up pressure a lot faster than the roots style and had more to give at higher engine rpm.
Is the car you just got a members car?

Give Dennis a call and discuss your new purchase with him. He should have a copy of the work done on that car--as a file if not the hard copy stuff... and be really careful --You will need to learn how to drive all over again--they are quick--for awhile just give the go juice when going straight--you will soon be good at everything...and when ..

with my roots, the boost may as well be an on or off switch. you either have it or you dont. with a centri it builds boost like a turbo as said above. you are correct on your point that they have more to give at higher rpms.

Geez I am running 235/50s and they dont look near as low prof

its simple to adjust. once you find it just loosen it and move it either left or right. one will make it go up one will make it go down. it doesnt take much. its on the wattslink FYI.
and make sure you turn off the AS b4 you go under there messing with it lol.
get it siffing right on some real rubber and she will be golden!

mine are wider, but shorter then the 50's.
in other words the first number means width, the second # is how tall they are.

yup, second is a percentage of the first, that equals the side wall height. times that by 2 and add the rim size and you have your tire height

now that you said that, i remember i was searching one time i was bored and there is a thread that i read about the rear height adjustment. for sure about the air suspension button, i had a bad experience before on my '96 grand marquis.

Nice car Landy I'm glad you found the right ride. You will have to take it down here to visit me and Phil. as long as it is not raining, I have only driven my Marauder in the rain about 7 times since I bought it new in 03 and last month after your wreck I to lost the car on a 3 lane road I was able to recover after the 360 spin with no impact but had to check my shorts when I got home, I will never take her in the rain again.

Whew, glad you recovered from that 360 spin without smacking anything, I did that once in my 95 P71 when I was 18 caught some black ice while making a left turn at an intersection. Cop told me nice recovery when he pulled me over
CONGRADS ON YOUR NEW RIDE, SC/MM, I COULDN'T DO BETTER MYSELF. Me and you both will keep them out of the rain. Especially me since i have to deal with snow in the DC area.
