I'm thinking about turning my center console into a cooler. any one have any ideas on how to do this?
i was thinking of lining it with the padding from a nynlon lunch bag and glueing it in, or maybe just simply lining it with a heavy plastic bag.
also, are there any eletric coolers that run off 12 volts ?
any ideas please, im brainstroming here

When I staggered out of my hotel room this morning, I grabbed a bucket of ice from the hotel lobby and just dumped it into the arm rest console.
There is still ice in it now 6 hours later, but all of my beer is gone.

And it did not create a short from the power plug or start a fire!;)

If it did, I was too tired to notice!

could always hack up one of those $50 mini-fridges you can get at a target or wal-mart and see what you can fit where. It's oddly enticing to turn it into a cooler isn't it? ;)

Well, if you're really serious about this, check out your local salvage yard for older Nissan or Toyota vans, They had a console cooler option offered years back. We had one as a rental back in the early 80's and it worked fairly well, although it was small, only held a couple cans.
If you can find one, you may be able to modify to fit the MM.
Other than that, how about mounting a small 12V cooler or mini fridge in the trunk?
