Xcal 2 sct 9400 functions

I am afraid I could damage my motor. I bought my Xcal a few years ago. I bought it with two pre programed tunes. One for 3:55 gears the other for 4:10s. I have used it twice for each gear set up. I never realized it had so many functions. The directions were minimal. I mentioned in a previous post how the engine had a faint valve ping or rattle while in OD at 1500rpm at 40mph driving up an incline. It was suggested to remove -2 degrees global timming. Looking on line I found all these functions. How do I remove -2 degree global timming ? What are the exact sequential steps ?

Use the arrow keys to drop down to -2 then save....

So, I plug the x cal cable into the port under the steering wheel. With key off scroll to Program Vehicle. Custom tune or Return to stock. Go to Custom Tune. Press select. Enter (option parameters) press select. Navigate through selectable options to global timming. Press select. Make adjustment -2 degree press select. Then turn key on & press cancel button to start flash process ?

Basically yes...I'm not sure the sequence you have is exactly right... i'm dealing with massive pm's and txts about my trailer atm ... you should just be doing a paremeter change in that tune that you want then a reflash...there will be a clunk from the rear of the car when done...no worries its the big gerbil living in the fuel tank...

plug in sct2 key off
program vehicle is on the screen
push select
install tune on screen
push select
pick your tune from list use arrow keys
push select .............................. ........somewhere here it tells you to turn the key on
modify optional parameters is on screen
push select
arrow down to
spark idle to 2000
push select
arrow down to -2
push select
arrow down to spark 2000-4000
push select
arrow down to -2
push select
arrow down to spark 4000-8000
push select
arrow down to -2
push select
arrow up to install tune and push select then follow what the screen says....see easy hahahahahahaha

Thank you for the instructions on how to pull timming with the xcal 2. Will this now be part of my custom tune ? So in the spring when the good gasoline & warmer temps retern I just do the same in reverse under Custom tune ? Wow what a great tool. Can the x cal 2 moniter or log A/F ratio ?

These are user changable parameters when you look next year and got thru all the steps when you get to the timing all will still say -2 or whatever you set them to just 0 just up arrow to 0 and you will be back at the baseline that the original tune was set at. Now you can also goto the track with a near empty tank and put 5 gallons of 106 in there and giver her +2 for some extra zip down the quarter also....just listen for the dredded stones in a soda can sound and let off if you hear it.....
