Hi everyone, My name is Chad and im a new member. I dont have a MM yet but I am seriously thinking about getting one.

Little bit about me-
I'm 33 y/o, married with 2 wonderful kids. I've been in the Marine Corps for 11+ years and am currently stationed in southern CA. It sounds nice, but I'm in the miiddle of the desert with nothing around. The closest walmart is a 30 minutes drive.

My cars-
I have a 97 and a 94 Mark VIII. The 94 is basically stock except for a 98 tranny and a tune, the 97 is no where close to stock. Its got a JMOD tranny, true duals with x-pipe, flowmasters, SCT X3 tune from Lonnie at blue oval chips, 98 cobra intake manifold, 4.10's with posi, MMC driveshaft, and some other stuff I cant remember right now. I've had the car for 7 years which is a record for me but its getting to be time to part with it.

Always been a fan of the marauder and was curious what a good price is for one with less the 50k miles? This looks like a great site, and I promise to search before i ask any stoopid questions.

Welcome Chad:beer:

First off thank you for your service! Check the for sale section of the forum for prices, they are sometimes a little more expensive than you might find somewhere else but at least you know the cars were taken care of and respected for the most part. Good luck on the site!

Sounds better than Fort Irwin, CA where you are 75 miles from Victorville (civilization) and 40 miles from Barstow (almost civilization). :D

BTW -- Welcome :welcome1: to the MM.Net

Its 29 Palms, about 30 miles from yucca valley. I know victorville and barstow, there about the same. I have been to worse places though!

Chiming in here from Lake Havasu City, AZ... my wife works in Parker, AZ with a woman who grew up in 29 Palms. Marauders are definitely a rare find around here; I will occasionally pass a DTR on the 40, but I am the sole owner of one in these parts... just rolled over to 100k a few days ago. I couldn't be happier with the car, I've kept it pretty much bone stock and I know I'm missing out but in the 100,000 miles I've had her, the only problem I've had is the A/C compressor blowing up around 60k. Well, that and keeping good tires on her -- she eats through them like they're going out of style. If you find one and decide to buy, you won't regret it and you'll definitely have a rare car, especially around here. If you ever wanted to take one for a spin to check it out (albeit bone stock), I'd be happy to let you take a spin in mine. Best of luck! -Pete

I believe my Nephew is stationed there. They go to the field in Yuma for authentic Middle East exercises.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Pete- thanks for the offer. I love Havasu, but havent been over there for quite some time. Work keeps me pretty busy.

I have to paint both of my cars and sell them before I can get a MM but its my plan. Until then I will continue to dream and read up on them some more.

Welcome Chad, it seems to be a natural acquisition 1st a Mk 8 then a MM.
I hope you are not getting rid of your Mark are you?

Hey man whats up? Good to see a familiar face (name) on here. I plan on selling both the marks after i get them painted. It will be hard to part with the 97, been through a lot with that car and it has taught me a lot too. When I bought it 7 years ago I didnt even know how to change my own oil, now I would have no worries about tearing the engine apart. I'm afraid that after I get it painted I wont want to sell it. The wife doesnt want me to sell it, she hates it but knows how much I love it. We'll see though.

When you're ready you should be able to find a nice MM,either someone here will have a nice one for sale or they'll be able to steer you towards one.TonytheBrit found the one I ended up buying.
