View Full Version : Was my gas door frozen?

After a night of drinking half a gallon of chocolate milk and talking about boobs at Zacks house I went out for fuel. When I got to the station to fill up the button for the gas door wouldn't work. I kept pushing the button and nothing. The car had been running for 20 minutes and driving for 15 minutes.

The temperature said it was 6 outside which meant 1. :eek: After unlocking the car several times, opening and closing the drivers door the gas door finally opened. The trunk still opened, but the door wouldn't at first. It didn't make the click or anything.

I have filled the car up when it was colder before, but I have never had this problem in the seven years I have had the car. The button works fine and everything now. Is there any electrical connection for the gas door release? I know the trunk has one for the button, but I am not sure on the gas door.

Any info? Is there anything I can look at to make sure this doesn't happen again?

BTW there was no water or ice anywhere on the car.

Sounds like the release catch was stuck. Give it a quick shot of WD-40.

There is - or rather, ought to be - a manual override inside the trunk, in the area of the air ride on/off switch. It's a tee-handle on the end of a wire, similar to the inside trunk-release pull. Open the trunk and give that a pull if it should happen again.

Is it just me, or are the replies on this forum becoming an "elite-vs-everyone else" crapfest? I rarely look to see who posted what, but after reading the posts in this thread, I thought that Aren Jay had returned.
