Hi Everyone,

My name is Dave and I am relatively new to the sight. I have been on since I got my Marauder in October but I just wanted to say hello to everyone and tell them a bit about my addiction!

1. My newest machine is the 2004 Black Marauder with about 98K on the clock. It is in nice condition (paint is a bit rough with scratch marks and such) but the wheels and rest of the car are real nice. I plan to update the performance wanting to get it into the low 14's or upper 13's within the next 1-2 years. I have already bought many items to help with improving her like, 4.10 Ford Gears, a larger transmission cooler, a Scan Tool, drilled and slotted rotors, EBC front pads and Hawk Rear pads, and the list goes on!

Now my plan is to pull my 3,800 pound 24 feet travel trailer with her (I know many will be thinking I have lost my sanity about doing this but I am NOT a truck/SUV guy!). My other pather a 1992 Crown Vic with the trailer towing package and 210 HP was a bit week in the GA mountains to keep usingt this car for the duty so the Marauder was found.

My plans are the following items:

1. Get the 4.10's installed with a rebuilding of the Track Lok (I have an Auburn I bought for my Vic back in 1994 that is still in the box!).

2. Update the exhaust with Dynomax Mufflers #12255 (18 inch Stainless Steel), an X-Pipe exhaust and a less restrictive path to the mufflers too (mandrel bent pipes to hook it up). Stock tailpipes since they look so good on our cars! Possible extrude hone the exhaust manifolds but this will be a later addition.

3. A tuner (SCT is probable but Diablo is also being considered since my bud has had good luck with his Charger Hemi). I know the Marauder is a fairly heavy car so getting the right tune for the trailer is all about torque not HP. I would like 3 tunes stock, Trailer and Performance. 93 Octane will always be used. Any suggestions on what would work best for my needs?

4. CAI: I am thinking K&N since most of my other cars have these filters even my Crown does.

5. I have an autometer temperature gauge for the trans temp and will buy the Autometer 10110 pod for our A pillar to mount it from Summit.

I also have the following cars in my addiction collection:

1. 1967 Cougar XR7 Diamond Blue 289 4V C4, AC Blue Interior.

2. 1971 Cougar XR7 Covert: White with black leather interior. 351 2V with a lame C4 (not a good shifter) and 2.75 Track lok ceramic headers and 2.25 inch exhaust, roller rockers etc....

3. 1972 Cougar XR7 Covertible Cobrajet: Arrest me yellow!, Black hood scoop and spoiler, C-6 with 2000 stall TCI converter, 3.25 31 spline track lok, 2.5 inch exhaust and ceramic Hooker headers, etc....

4. 1973 Cougar XR7 Coupe: My 2nd car which I have owned since 1987! Black Beauty with a 400M C-6 that chirps them whenever I want (even 80 MPH 2-3 shift!), 3.25 28 spline Track Lok, 725 Spead Demon carb, 4V exhaust manifolds etc....

5. 1971 Boss 351 Mustang: Yellow and Black now but should be Black and Argent! Tired 351 Cleveland 4V but the updates are all in my basement! This will be a roller cammed, stroked, TKO 500 3.91 TL 31 spline beast when it is done.

6. 1992 Crown Victoria LX: White with blue interior with the trailer towing package all Panthers should have come with (3.27 TL, Heavy Duty radiator, trans cooler, etc...). I am the original owner with 63K miles on it so it isn't even broken in good yet!

7. 2007 Shelby GT 500 Convertible: Black with Tungsten stripe in the lower rocker. If this would have been able to pull the trailer I would have done it! Sometimes full frames are much better!

Well sorry to take so much space. Happy New Year to all and hope we all have a great year! Your suggestions are always welcome.

Welcome to the site. I would like to recomend that maybe you should look into buying a Cougar XR7 to add to your stable. :lol:They are way cooler than a Mustang I think.

Thanks to you all.

I have been enjoying the site for the past couple months. Being a guy who loves both Cleveland and Modulars (Ford's last 2 V-8 engines) I knew this site was the right one for my Marauder.

Darrin: I never got that e-mail. Please send again if you can.

Marty: I just got the paint touched up but I am not thrilled with it. As far as the rear gears go I have a friend at Team Ford that will be doing them for me. I will keep you in mind when I do the tune on the car. Do you sell the SCT and Diablo tunes? I know you are installing the dyno in your shop and that will be great to get my MM dialed in.

Take care all and if anyone else has suggestions let me know.

Dave..

Dave's not here.... Old one I know but still a goodie. Welcome to MM.net. I was just reading the Cougar Eliminator article in Hemmings Muscle, very cool car.
I recommend the K&N cai
A tune will make the car much more drivable, I don't know about what it would do for towing but I'm sure someone can answer that ??

If you want my guy to look at the paint, let me know.

And, yes we can help you with the SCT stuff.

I hope to see you around.

Welcome aboard. Enjoy the site. BTW, I was looking into a 1988 Cougar XR7 but it didn't pan out.

Dave,

Welcome to the site! Didn't I see you at the Cracker Barrel in Nov? I have the 300B stocker. Financial services wasn't it?

Hi Bob,

That probably wasn't me. The only Cracker Barrell I have gone to with my Marauder was the one in Smyrna, TN when I drove it home from Nashville where I got it.

Dave...

Well, anyway, if you want, a bunch of us Marauderistas meet for breakfast at the Delk Rd. Cracker Barrel on the third Sat of the month @ around 8:00. Not mine, but a bunch of really cool Marauders usually show up.

I see you have quite the Cougar collection. I've always wanted a '69 Eliminator, but am still a fan of other years. Anyway, always glad to see another Mercury enthusiast here!

I know I'm a little late to the party here but welcome. Have you found your way over to mercurycougar.net? It's another site that Logan (the creator of this site) is responsible for. Haven't seen you over there so I thought I'd throw that out there...
