Hey fellas, Ive got an intermittent issue going on. Every now and again I get a slight delay when part throttle or going WOT it eventually goes away but want to see about looking into it more. Maybe thinking COP they have 115k but dunno what else to look for?

i almost felt the same thing with 120,000 on the clock. it would hesitate very slightly when i was just giving it just enough gas to move. it also stalled one time rolling to a stop sighn, never happened again. i just put a set of plugs and a new fuel filter in and it seemed to go away. didnt throw and code either.

I posted this on another site and I think this is whats happening seems to be accurate:
RE: Lean tip in
"the best way to solve the problem is to log the Load under a whole bunch of different steady driving conditions. This will give your tuner enough information to scale the Load_With_Failed_MAF table.
When you first press the throttle, you get an inrush of air that the MAF doesn't detect right away, because the MAF isn't instantaneous, especially with big changes (my BB/S injectors/MAF etc). In order to compensate for this delay, when you first hit the throttle, the PCM assumes the MAF can't respond, so it looks up the Load from the LWFM table and uses that to calculate how much fuel to deliver for a few miliseconds until the MAF can catch up."
So I am talking to the tuner to see what they can do otherwise I am sending to another shop to re-do the tune.

Could be your IAS (Idle Air Solenoid) is starting to go, or plugged with carbon.

ok where is that thing? I'll have to search to see. shouldnt that throw a code on the xcal?

Get a can of "throttle body cleaner" and go to town. Maybe even 2 cans. Do NOT use "carburetor cleaner" as it can damage certain components. This made a HUGE difference in my car. Also, change the air filter, even if it looks clean, and especially if it's getting older. Mine looked clean, but it was older, so I changed it anyway. Now my MM is much more responsive and quick.:D

I'm not sure if the IAS has it's own code or not. If you do a search, there have been a number of threads on this....
It's located near to the throttle body, facing the front of the vehicle and is easy to get to. Once a year I usually undo it and give the valve part a good cleaning with Carb Cleaner or Seafoam, then spray some into the intake side hole.
It controls the idle air getting around a closed throttle to maintain idle rpm. Also, the engine computer uses it to control the engine when the throttle transitions up from idle position, to prevent stalling etc.

The IAC is not functional off Idle.....so I don't think that is the culprit!!:shake:
Spark and/or weak coils make more sense......I think?? The only thing is it "clears" itself after the hesitation.....could be fuel related....pump/filter??
Good Luck!!

It's actually the IAC valve, not a solenoid. The Idle Air Control valve is a motorized valve with a variable opening/orifice.

I thought the SCT 3000 was BETTER at larger air mass measurements/sampling and worse with minute changes.

I stand corrected. Thanks. Here's some good info on the IAC Valve:
