View Full Version : Factory subwoofer harness conundrum

I have an 03 Marauder. I bought it without the factory subwoofer was missing (which I discovered later) and contacted the previous owner who said it was not in the car when he bought it. Anyways, a member here was generous enough to give me his factory subwoofer enclosure and all provided I pay shipping.

It arrived and when I went to connect everything, I was met with two different harnesses. What am I missing here? Is there an adapter cable I'm missing, or were they different between 03 and 04?

You are missing a little harness that goes from the Amp to the Connector in the trunk.

I'm no audio guy but thats a new one on me...I would think they are the same between the 2 years...

I dont have the part number but I am sure you can pick one from the dealer or your local Junk Yard. Grand Marquis/Crown Vic with premium sound have the same harness.

The best I have done so far is find a pic of said harness. Does anyone have a part number? You know how it goes if you walk into a dealer with out a part number. They look at you like you're a retard and tell you the part doesn't exist when they can't find it.

I know you didn't ask, but did you know the OEM subwoofer & amplifier are junk, and not worth messing with?

Yeah, I know.. but if I can spend a couple bucks on a harness to just get SOME bass as opposed to the zero I have now with almost no effort, it will get me by for a little while until I can get an amp and box for the two Apline R series 10" subs I have that are collecting dust.
