A few other forums I am on allow the user member to have blogs where whenever they get a wild hair up their butt they can type whatever they want.

Just thought this might be a nice feature to look into possibly doing, I know it would help some members not post millions of random thought threads.

That is not a bad idea, then it would be easier to ignore peoples random crap. I don't care about people's personal problems, it's a car board.

Way back when Logan had set up "the Dark Side" for something along these lines.

I didn't have a chance to check it out myself, but from what I understand, it got pretty ugly.

It was wild, but it did get very ugly.....very quickly. I think some good friendships were ruined by 'The Dark Side'.

BTW: Would this 'Blog' idea help to unclutter 'Today's Posts' from all the random thought threads and unresearched questions threads?

I doubt it Joe, just one more thread, don't think it would reduce anything.

That's my biggest gripe.

But, I don't think that will happen...'Today's Posts' will still be jammed with knee jerk questions and random thought threads.

Friendships were indeed ruined as a result of the Dark Side.

Creating a "Blog" or other forum will not guarantee 100% that the original poster would start a thread in that specific location.

How about one thread titled "Mental Diarrhea" so you knew not to look into it, just like when we had the CBT, ME, justbob etc thread that people knew not to look into or be offended. We would all know what that thread entailed so we could avoid or read it as we wish.

It got closed...apparently they like it better when we run rampant. But its mostly just justbob and myself, TJ and CBT arent around much these days.

I really don't see what the problem is. :rolleyes: Every thread/post has a subject and a poster's name. These two items alone should be sufficient to determine whether you even want to peek at the post.

If by chance you inadvertantly open a post of no real interest to you then you will know it within the first sentence.

If you are responding to "Junk Posts" and are encouraging more of the same -- then you are part of the problem.

Charlie I sould not agree more! I just do understand why some members go out ot their way to crap in a thread they have no use for then complain that there is too many useless threads? If they would leave well enough alone all would be well.
