This is the kit from Mike's car Bob, as far as I know he didn't have them cut.

Never actually had this kit on my car, but I did paint my stock calipers blue, so this might give you an idea of how it would look.

judging by the paint in the tops of the brake pads I assume that's caliper paint...you can easily paint a different color right over that

That's a good deal. I wonder if it would be possible to fab up some brackets to put the calipers on the rear rotors...

So instead of asking a few questions you decided not to answer my PM's? This kit came off a Marauder. The rotors WILL FIT! Look at my trader rating, you really think I'm here to screw people over?

I can only assume that Baer did not have a drilled rotor available when KB built the car and KB used this on...If Kenny Brown put that rotor on Mike's car then it is a QUALITY piece wether its a baer rotor or not the calipers obviously are,a Mustang kit from Baer in that system is $1200 bucks

Not just that there is a core group of professional car builders who believe drilled rotors are a farse,KB could be one of them for all I know.

If you live in an area like Chicago, or MA where temps can vary from high 90's to below freezing, Baer cross drilled rotors are succeptible (spelling) to cracking and warping......... Especially when a frozen rotor is clamped on when not properly warmed up.

They may have a remedy for this now, but when I bought mine back in 2006, I ordered slotted's to avoid this issue. A few members here have had it happen to them........ Defyant being the person I specifically remember posting some pix of his rotors.

JMHO but cross drilling and slotting is overkill from a performance perspective, but they look nice.
Choices and consiquences I guess. GLWS

I didn't know that. Looks like it's best for me to stay stock.

Anyone who is thinking about this should jump on it. I made a purchase through Sean here before and the transaction was speedy! It's a good buy people, go get it!

Well I would not go that far......... Our cars require more braking than what the OEM system offers. Especially if you drive the wheels off your Marauder.

My slotted only rotors pull this car down from speed very efficiently, and they don't fade.

Considering all the things we spend $1,500 or so on. This expenditure should be a no brainer if you drive the way you claim.

In the end tho any effort to improve the componentry over a stock system, should yield immediate improvements. I went with Baers because I did not want to nickel/dime and experiment with set ups. I'm sure the Wilwoods would be just as good a choice performance wise.

I agree, I've been in the car that these brakes were on and it stopped on a dime, even with the plain surfaced rotors, if I didn't need the money I would not even think of selling these.

If he buys the kit, can you take some really good measurements on the brakets for me? It looks like Baer used PBR calipers and brackets for the calipers, but the adapter bracket looks to be custom billet.

They are indeed PBR calipers. Similar to the KVR kit. The Baer calipers have a few mods, the fittings are relocated by plugging the original ones and drilling/machining for new ones. The KVR kit leaves the fittings in the original location but some of the fins are machined off to clear the adapter brackets.

The Baer adapter brackets are a one-piece machined part. The KVR ones consist of 3 pieces, each side has an aluminum plate and 2 spacers.

I'd like to get a set of the PBR calipers and build custom adapter brackets to put them on the rear.

Mustang Cobras use the same style of twin piston PBR calipers, and I happen to have a set of Cobra caliper backets in the garage. Calipers would not be hard to come by, but the adapter bracket would have to be machined or CNC'd which will get expensive fast. KVR will not call me back, and no one has answered the phone in the last week I've been calling.

The KVR adapter brackets would be simple to duplicate. A block of aluminum with 4 holes and 2 spacers, one for each side.

I assume the caliper brackets are the same for Cobra, Corvette, or aftermarket PBR calipers, so I'd have to get a set of those along with the calipers, then work out some adapter brackets for the rear... Hmmm. I wonder how much the calipers and brackets would cost from a salvage yard?

Check out Corral.net or your local Mustang forums before buying from a recycler. They usually aren't expensive, and buyfordracing.com has Cobra brackets and calipers loaded for $229.
