Well am changing my 4 stock speakers to somthing better any suggestion what brand should i go with?
I think the MM is equipped with 6x8 speakers all around. I would like to stay with the same size speakers with no modification.
I was thinking Infinity Kappa 6X8 what do you guys think?
and just wondering dose the MM have a built in amp?

Most of us are using the Infinity line but they are not 6X9's there smaller, i'm using the Infinity Refrence line and the only amp is on the sub. Check the search and make a decision for yourself.

You have more options if you use 6x9, they fit just fine. Infinity, JBL, Pioneer are all good choices.
My setup includes JBL replacements for the 4 OEM speakers.
Infinity replacement for the OEM sub, it came from a 2-way component system.
The tweeters from the Infinity system are mounted in the sail panels.
Tweeters from a 2-way MB Quart component system are mounted to the little triangle trim on the front doors.
The other speakers from the MB Quart system are mounted in the rear doors, behind the door panels with no grilles.
Infinity Basslink mounted in the trunk.
Pioneer makes some nice ones and a lot of members have used them here. The TSD 802P is a great sounding speaker and bolts right in. PM me for pricing.

I am using 6X8 Kappa components and 6X9 4way Kappa in the rear deck, I did have to do some cutting to get the 6X9's to fit. If you not going to run an external amp I would suggest the reference line as they do not require a lot of power to sound good.

I have 5.25" 2-way MB Quart component speakers mounted for the front running off the stock headunit and they sound leaps and bounds better than stock.
You're not limited to 5x7 or 6x8 size especially for the front. I just had to make an adapter plate, attached the crossover with velcro to the underside of the armrest on the door trim and then mounted the tweeters up high. Modifiing the trim pieces for the tweeters I have them aimed directly towards the center console as to create a center sound stage.

I am using a Kappa 6 channel amp that runs my 6X8 components, 6X9's and a Image Dynamics 8" in the rear deck. Im not sure how much the amp ran me but they no longer make a 6 channel amp.
They do however have a 5 channel that you can find online for about $300 or so and it would work great for the Kappa line speakers all around as well as a 6" or 8" driver in the rear deck.

I have seen this amp for lower than $275 shipped online you just have to do some research.

I went with kicker 6x8's all around and a 6 disc 06 Escape head unit. Vast improvement.
I paid $120.00 for the four speakers at circuit city when they went out of business.
All combined i'd say way better and more clear than stock with more controlled bass, but far from a $10,000 system obviously.

I have Pioneer 5x7/6x8 speakers with Crutchfield adaptors. This makes installation a piece of cake.

Ask John about that stuff. A.K.A. Pops.
I mostly listen to Mono recorded music so I'm happy with the stock set up. :D
