Has anyone tried the Hitachi Enforcer starter on their MM?

Says its lite weight and adjustable to clear headers and the like. Prices seem to be in the $140-160 range.

www.hitachi-hap.com (http://www.hitachi-hap.com) then click high performance products
PSL104 looks like the one that would fit the MM

I had that cold start rattle noise that was linked to the starter.

I have the rattle on cold starts not sure if it's the starter or not, but no problems besides that...

^^Is it sort of like a humming sound, like your MM's stomach is growling?!?! If so I get that everytime I start up the BK, always figured it was re-setting itself or something...I'm so new to my MM after reading what you all post up. What is that?!?!

no yours is probably the air pump, mine is a little noisier than most. Open the hood, and listen near the air box, the pump is under it, and usually cycles when started each day, it will also cycle while driving.

I saw some rust starting to appear on the outside of the starter case on mine when I removed my old transmission. Cleaned it then coated the case with Ultra Black hi temp silicone! No more rusting - I hope it helps keep it preserved.

I wouldn't want to change away from the Ford starter sound, it's so distinct, makes me proud every time I turn on my car
