Going to get a set of Nitto 420S for the rears. Cost from local dealer is same as internet cut save on shipping. Price= $125 each.

That will give me two BFG stock front tires and two Nitto's on the rear.

Pulled the trigger on a set of Nit 420s 255/55 18 for the rear last Saturday @$105.xx per tire. Just arrived today. Still good rubber on oem's and no problem with the slight amount of snow we've had to date, so won't be installed just yet. Didn't want to take a chance on the price going up, the closer we get to warmer weather.

Definately will be on for the run to Kentucky.

BTW Pat, per our conversation, they do say M+S, but won't get to find out this winter.:D

Does nitto make 1 tire 555 or 420s that comes in our front & back sizes?
I hate running mis match tires.

The 420s is a light truck tire...not sure how they would feel on the front.

Hey Pat...where are you seeing these on the net for $125?

I need another set before I say goodbye.

Cruztaker;

They were advertised on Discounttire.com, but now are $139.00. I checked several other discount houses and the prices ranged from 132 to 139 dollars each, plus shipping in some cases.

They were also sold at my local tire shop, Gene's tire and custom wheels, for $125.00 (no shipping cost). That's where i bought them.

You will like them Pat. Mine will need replacing this spring, but I have a ton of miles on them.

Marginally taller. Made no real life difference on my speedo. Radar checked. If my speedo says 70, I'm doing 70. On my 04 DTR anyway.

I'm glad you all got yours cheaper. I looked around for a couple of weeks and lowest I saw was at discounttires $127 + shipping (not discounttire - there's a $20 difference) so just went with the local guy at $162 each mounted and balanced, etc, filled with nitrogen.

Is nitrogen that much better or a gimmick? It was $15 a pair extra for the gas and I can get the tires topped off free for the life of the tire.

I've never used it, but folks on here who have say it is better.
