Just wondered if anyone has or remembers the OEM oil change oil diverter piece part number that makes changing the oil so much less of a mess? It was a Ford part but was not included from the factory for some reason. I had one for my first '04 Marauder but need another as it went with the car when sold. Any help with this would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

Hey thanks! That's it. that's the deflector I am looking for. Tried a MM search but no luck as far as threads go. Did a Google as well. Not very successful. Anyone have or know where to acquire this part?

does that piece bolt in place or you just put it up in there when you change the filter?

They are definitely worth it. They are a little difficult, to figure out how to get on though.

Do you guys just leave yours on or do you pull it off when you are done changing the oil?

I left mine on, but it seems like it wouldn't take much force for it to get knocked off.

If you let the yahoos at an oil change place change your oil & filter, make sure they don't take it off or lose it.

Called Dealers today. Just a heads up to anyone searching for this oil deflector. Ask for a 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis oil filter drain deflector part number #5W1Z-6N634-A (1 A not 2 at the end-revised superseded number). I got a price of $23.82 and in stock within a day. Hope this info. helps.

Got mine for $10 from a friend who works in the parts dept. of a Ford dealership. Also heard $16 is a price some have been charged.
