I'm thinking about having my windows tinted this spring and was looking for some suggestions for good shops in the CAM region.

The place I came up with from a Google Maps search is:

Performance Window Tinting
Columbia, MD

Anyone have any experience with them? They carry the Huper Optik Ceramic Series tint which is supposed to be the best by my research.

Thanks!

My back window has the tint crinkling. How tough is it too remove? Just trying to save a few bucks when the Marauder comes out of hibernation.

I do believe there is a spray chemical that you can use to remove the tint adhesive and not hurt the rear defroster.

Had to get mine removed last year to get through Maryland inspection and they did a good job of getting it off without damaging anything (defroster or radio antenna). I just had new legal tint put back on so I won't have to go through that again...although I do miss my old tint (17% vs 40%).

I had No Limit window tint do the removal of all of my tint on the MM in Md and he was a really nice guy and he steamed all of the tint off and did not damage my defroster grid. I am gonna use him to reinstall, I have been too lazy to have it re done so far but it is getting to me how bad the car looks with clear glass.

Contact SilverSurfer03 he told me he knows a guy that does really good work for cheap $$$$.

I've only ever had one place do tint perfect besides one hair under the tint which they fixed but ZERO bubbles and good price. EZ Auto Care in Laurel, MD but that was over 5 years ago and on a vehicle I no longer own.

^Don't go way past legal limit lol. I always go for 30% now which is just fine for me. Had 20% on an older car and was pulled over a few times in it but never got a repair order to take it off.

Capital heights huh? You are definitely not gonna see my car in capital heights, especially stopped for any length of time.

30% is dark enough, i a gree^, to look good without getting harassed by the po po

I went to Winner's Window Tint in Frederick, MD. You can google search their website.

I live in VA and the guy was real friendly and didn't seem to mind that I was coming over from VA. I guess he gets that a lot. Anyways, I went down to 35% but I went back about 2 months later to see if I could go darker.

He said we can do two things: 1) take the tint completely off and then re-tint using the 22% shade. or 2) add another layer of 35% over top of the old tint and it should roughly be about 20%, give or take.

i went for option 2.

The only time I got pulled over for my tint and they put that little doo-hickie thing on my window, I registered at 11%

But I'm extremely happy with my tint. And I'm careful too. Its not like I go zooming down the road without checking my surroundings. I watch for cops. My GF says I've got "cop-dar". I just see it as I'm always looking out for another Marauder on the road and I just can pick out the Crown Vics and Grand Marquis' from a mile away! :D

If you do go lower, be smart when you get pulled over at night, turn your interior lights on and put all of your windows down. The safer and at ease an officer feels 9 times out of 10 they will be cool unless you did something to really piss them off. lol

I have two layers of tint on mine. First I went legal. was ok for a litle bit, then I was like ****-it. First time I got pulled over, PG office said? "you know why I followed you into the parking lot"? I said why? He said you have no front tag and them windows are to dam dark. I was like ooooh s--t, here it comes. Then he proceeded to tell me how he had MM and how much he missed it. Showed me pics of it on his laptop in the cruiser. Sat there and bs-ed for a while. He told me some one stole his ride. Long story short. He let me go cuz I had FD tags. I see him on calls in my first due. Mostly domestics and accidents. Good guy though. He said something about TWIN03............lol........: D

I'm def ready to get tints.....20% all around, still iffy on getting my windshield done though. It's a spot out in Clinton (name escapes me) took tints off my sebring at the time. They did a good job and they get business. I got the flyers at home so I will post the name sometime this week.
