Hi all just wondering if this is normal.
don’t have any problem with 1st gear or 2nd shifting, but when my car shift on 3rd it seem like small kick on up shifting . Is this is normal? I feel this small kick fewer than 3RPM while going 40 or less is this normal?
p.s
i have a stock gear's.
and i do have a tune

If you have no tune, it may be your T/C Locking up...which is normal. Does your rpm's drop. If so, my first statement is correct.

Mine does this. I HATE it. I understand it's normal and the tune fixes it.

T/C lockup is it I bet as said above.

I hated it on mine. Drove me nuts because it would do it right after shift and felt like the trans had issues.

So I had Dennis change the tune Jerry did to my car ( Jerry hadnt modified the trans tune with that initial break in tune) to include lockup at 70mph. I dont know what other parameters are considered in the lockup, if any, but 70mph worked perfectly. I dont care about gas mileage when driving around town at slower speeds. But 70 allows it to lockup when on highway when it really counts.

Sounds a little bit like what i had going on in my 03 marquis. no problem going into 2nd, but when it tried to go into 3rd, rpms would drop and would basically resist shifting,

Yep sounds like TC/OD lock-up....I've got mine tuned to preclude lock-up until @ 52 mph vs the factory setting of @ 35 mph.
It makes driveability so much nicer.

Isnt 70 a little high? I had mine set to lockup at about 60mph. I also dont care about mileage, just being able to take off when I need to.
