Signature sizes...

There are some very large signatures around here that (to me at least) are pretty distracting. Most sites I post on have a signature size requirement a la the following:



One image, maxed out at 600x200



5 lines of text


So...I guess that's my suggestion, is some sort of policy on signatures.
Maybe I'm in the minority here, and maybe nobody cares.

Just sayin'.

I personally don't mind the text, but the pictures are sometimes too big. Both in size formatting (won't fit a regular page width on the screen) and in memory usage (takes forever to download so many megapixels).

I think the pictures are mostly the problem, and yes - DL speed is affected by the larger pictures...but I also get distracted by the text.

I mean, if I'm an army of one, so be it. I'm not gonna make a super big deal about it, just throwing it out in case other people are thinking it too.

Ha on a marauder site especially the pictures are all but unnecessary. I mean seriously, except for a very special few, they all look the exact same because they are the same car! I took mine out because I don't think anyone is gonna be any more impressed with another black marauder

My signature has useful info for my fellow friends and members.

How about we keep the total dimension under 150,000 pixels - that's 500x300 or other combination. Also, under 40kb in file size. If you're having issues with posts loading too slowly, you can turn off signatures from your own viewing. If you have more than one picture, that's what the Garage is for. Put a link in your signature to your Garage.

You need to use a paint program to resize the photo. You can't do it through the website here.
