I have never been a big fan of the waterfall Mercury logo and wanted something different. My first Marauder, I painted the emblems black (as well as the A3GR great steering wheel and key badges). On my newer one I was going down the road of the "make your own Gods head using wheel centre caps" but the cost in Canada of the wheel badges or the cost to ship from the US were crazy (ie. over $75 a piece). I then came across some 67/68 Cougar centre caps and bought some on Ebay (4 for $57 shipped). So I followed the wisdom and instructions of MM03M0K, and did the badge mod but with a different style of centre cap. Here is what it looks like...what do you think and should I keep as is or paint the entire outer Mercury ring black? Let me know...The pictures are the same badge but just under different light...

Get rid of the rest of the waterfal / hockey sticks and paint it black on the inside.

Hmmm...
I actually like that better.
Looks less fireman-ey.
Great job, but I gotta say go with grinding down the last of the waterfall and make the outer ring black. It just looks cleaner that way!

Very similar to what I did. I used the keychains from Colex. I did a 'black chrome' look with them at first but I decided to just paint them black instead. I like the way it looks myself.
Good job on the old center caps, I definitely like the look! :2thumbs:

Thanks for the feedback and I have decided to go with the all black background. What do you think?

Looks good, but the true test is when it's on the vehicle. I'm sure it will blend in just fine, but I'm curious to see the final outcome. Now hurry up and post the final pics. :burnout:

LOL! What, did somebody ask you if you're a fireman, and that's why you have fireman badges on your car, or what?

Looks good, especially on a black one (just like everything else).
Maybe, make the Mercury letters silver?
