I asked a friend of mine if he would be willing to make a documentry on the Panther since it's almost over with. I believe he is willing to come to The Panther Pileup, but I have a few questions maybe some can answer for us.

Would Ford allow us to bring a camera into the plant?
Can we interview anyone there, even if we wait until they are off the clock?

Other things we will do is go to The Chicago Auto Show to show where the auto industry is going. FWD, V6, fuel economy, Hybrid... exc.

Interview Police officers and a few cab drivers on how they like their car,

Interview junkyard owners on the ease of maintaining one of these.

Go to Autozone and show how cheap parts are, along with junkyard.

Show what a following the car has created. Going to The Panther Pileup will probably close out the film.

Show high performance Panthers. Zack sounds like he is on board, Martyo, you would be a good choice too if you are willing.

Show how safe they are. Show how they never had to change the style because they got it right the first time.

Explain how they are The Last American Car. RWD, full size, V8 sedan.

I think we will call it The Last American Car. I want to see if we can get it together this summer and release it when the car's run comes to an end.

Do you guys have any suggestions for this project?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like it would be a pretty sweet project! Even if it doesn't go anywhere special I am sure you would have fun doing it and it would be enjoyed throughout the forum/cyber world...

He just graduated college as a film major. We can aquire all we need from people he knows. As of now he's behind the camera and I'm in front of it doing the interviews, narriration and of course burnouts.

Project sounds great---your enthusiasm reminds me of a young fellow a few years back--called "LML" here on the board--who seemed a bit like you..

I too would be interested in the final results and be a willing buying participant of same.

you think you'll end up down in the San Antonio area for whatever reason for this?

Dom does make personal appearances but you'll have to schedule plenty far in advance because he's got a busy eclectic schedule. :coolman:

Sounds awesome, but from what I read while looking into making a trip to STAP, they have a zero camera policy, and not to disturb the workers, though you should be able to try and catch them after work.

Also you might want to check out HBO's: The Last Truck; The closing of a GM Plant for some inspiration.

Cool. Sounds like I have some work to do.

I'll be in CA in a month. Got a place to stay MrBluGruv?

Well first step will be to take a camera to the Chicago Auto Show!

I don't understand why since the plant is closing and these isn't any technology to steal.

Maybe people will learn how to make RWD cars again if I sneak in a camera!

Google "The ghost of Henry Ford", cool pics and commentary from some folks that "toured" a shut down Ford plant.
