Seriously though. If they are pre-svt then why are they mach 1 covers? Ive heard of SHO and SVT, but SVO skips my mind.

On of these days I may get rid of it, if I ever get around to doing a 9" conversion project...
I dimly recall riding in the back seat of an SVO Mustang in the late 70s or early '80s.
It was a turbo four banger and with four adults in the car it ran like a bat-outta-hell. We were on LA 1 going to Baton Rouge doing 120 mph and still accelerating.
Is that the car that was coded SVO?

SVO was the badge on Ford performance cars and accessories developed by Special Vehicle Operations. Later on (with all the corporate mumbo-jumbo going on in all companies) it became Special Vehicle Team (SVT). Oddly, the Marauder wasn't a SVT product even though it incorporates some features developed by SVT.

The SVO mustang was built for 3 years. 1984, 1985 & 1986.

And they were ungodly expensive, like 60% more than a GT at the time.

SVO - Special Vehicle Operations *As noted by others.
SVO Motorsports equates to today's Ford Racing Performance Parts
SVO Mustang - a model option offered 1984-6.
Have a lot of SVO and SVO Motorsports parts on my 1986 Mustang - GT/SVO.

*Old pic' ... don't have a recent one.
Still have a ton of OEM, new, in-the-box SVO and SVO Motorsports parts. Leather wrapped - steering wheels, horn pads, emergency brake levers, shift handles, and shifter boots. Wheels, bi-plane spoilers, sail panels, wheels, center caps, lug nuts, spats, fog lights, speedometers, dead pedals, and miscellaneous interior pieces.
