So I'm driving home from work today and my temp. started climbing while sitting in traffic. I make it home cause when I turned on my heat the temp leveled back out. I get home and everything is hot like usually except the coolant overflow tank it is cold not even warm at all. Anyone have any ideas what could of caused this? Has a new water pump, thermostat and all new coolant which was replaced last April and it has barely been driven but maybe 5000 miles since.

sounds like maybe you got a crappy thermostat. if you have put 5k on since you have done all the work i wouldnt think that it is the common "air in the line". usually if it was it would have happened the first time your drove it.

If turning on the heat helped that leads me to ask if your electric fan was working?

fuse 102 under the hood.
if you put the 3 big relays to the left its the 50a fuse in the upper right hand corner

The fan turns on and is good. It stayed at normal this time so I'm gonna check the coolant in the crossover tomorrow morning and make sure its good. The overflow is filled where its supposed to be.

the way i bleed mine is fill the res till its full and fill the COT till its full. then i run the car with the heat on full blast and add coolant to the COT as necessary. you will know when its bled because the top of the upper rad hose will be warm. if not and only the bottom feels warm then you still have air in it.
