In High School, a friend of mine converted his WW tank into a "Car Bar":

Cleaned the tank, routed the hose to under the dash and filed it with JD.

Hit the washer and fill the glass.

It's still a miracle that I lived through High School.............

Changed both lower ball joints and both stabilizer bar end links. One ball joint had play, one end link was broken.

Tried but failed to replace the drivers side wheel hub. I couldn't get the damn thing off! Soaked it with a penetrating oil for over an hour and still nothing.

Thread the bolts back in about half way.
Put an impact socket on the head of the bolt and use a BFH and work your way around from bolt to bolt to break it loose.
When you get a gap showing you can start working it out w/prybar.
I just did both of mine that way!

Also, for penetarting oil -try PB Blaster if you can get it.

Cleaned the engine & vacuumed the trunk area for the first time (neither were too bad to begin with.), washed & waxed the exterior, & vacuumed the interior. All that is left to do is to clean & condition the leather seats & I'm done.

There isn't a lot of room to swing a bfh. I did try this, but only on the one bolt that was easiest to reach.
But thanks for the info - now I know it works. I'll try harder next time :)

Big day at the homestead! This weekend I finished re-arranging/organizing garage so as to be able to actually park 2 cars in the 2 car garage! Completing the T242 install allowed this as the parts, etc. are now out of the way.

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g443/MyBlackBeasts/2cargarageS.jpg
Was forced to get this project done so I could park MM in garage for the winter as I'll be able to drive New Blue in the snow/salt.

To understand why this is a celebration one would have to know that when I moved in to this house 1/1/2009 this garage was cubed out with stuff - front to back, left to right & top to bottom.

It was a big day when I was able to clear out an area to park 1 car! :D

Already on the works Gordon. Next spring, old roof off, taller reversed gabled roof installed, complete with door rails and opener that follows the truss's up! If it's in the budget, then also ordering a four post long term storage rack for the next project car, 29-31 Ford Tudor Rat rod.

Fixed the exhaust leak on New Blue that's been driving me nuts. The fitting between the exhaust manifold & EGR tube rotted through. Of course the tube was in bad shape so it had to be replaced also.

I figured it woud be a massive PITA job but found the fitting to manifold interface was not pipethread. Rather is was machine thread with taper face seal. Spun right out, surprised the heck out of me!!!

30 minutes & done, boy was I happy! :D

Seeing as I finished so quick, took MM out for a drive. Visited a friend and came home with the back tires a little shorter than they were when I left! :burnout:

Put it to the floor @ 28, kept her rear about 3"s to the right, banged 2nd and off to the left maintaining another 3"s and finally let off at somewhere around 55 (totaling probably 150' of pure fun..)as 3rd was about to chime in on the fun. Tires barely into a spin the entire time, gaining speed too quickly, had to back off.

God why didn't I listen to everyone around here soooo many years ago and get these Nitto 420's sooner? I drove a comparable car not too long ago and the wheel spin with his BFG's was utterly STUPID. Like dancing on ice! These Nitto's hook like no tomorrow!!!

Did I mention I only have a couple line lock burnouts, and well over a couple HUNDRED normal roll out burnouts since April this year when I installed these? Well not only is that true, but they still look NEW!!! NO B.S.

So what did I do to my car (last night)??

I enjoyed what I built and shredded just enough stress to keep on staying sane.

Hey Bob, what size are these tires? I can't hook with the 555r in 295/45 at all.

OK, its been 6 years since I have done anything- so I visited for the first time Mo's Speed Shop in Ga. and we did the following. Some normal maintenance and then some new add on's that I have been wanting to do for a long time.

1. Added / installed rear Cooling Mod Kit , from Muscle Merc-

2. Added / installed New Line Brake.

3. Added/ installed new stainless steel brake lines--all 4 tire areas.

4. Changed/installed new Aeromotive Fuel Pump.

5. Replaced K/N Air Filter with new one

6. Replaced Fuel Filter with New one (Already was in-line type).

7. Turned Front Rotors and scrubbed pads.

8. Re-Tuned

Yep--Jeff, Brandon, and Jim Bo did a great job at Mo's. I especially was pleased with how well they look over your car while handling other cars at the same time. They seem to be always involved with moving cars around the shop from one fix area to another --with about 4-5 cars being looked at continuously throughout the day on various parts/points of service work.

And they did not forget anything that was needed or to do what they said they would do.

SO now I have a new set up that I need to re-learn --especially the line brake--such a fun toy--ya'll really should get one if you don't have it!!

My tune*** stayed the same far as HP and TQ but Jeff totally changed the entire set up on the shift points and getting more at a later speed than previous.

(*** Jeff told me a of an issue I could do that would make it--'"really bad" that we didn't get to do --so maybe at a later date--now I have it filed back in my mind all the time)

SO driver training is in effect for now--can't wait for Z-Maz ( my local track) to open up next year--plus I have never run there--so I will definitely will pile on the runs there now--will post later then what this all turns into then--

Just plain old 255/55/18's! I shouldn't say "hook" I should say the tires don't spin completely out of control like the BFGs. Hell, they even end their traction loss in a loud squeal! On some pavement it bites so hard it almost feels like intermittent tire on rim slip.

Took out my 170 Tstat, put in the 188 OEM for winter. Lost 2 gallons of coolant doing it. Filled burped 3x, new o-rings on my COT fill plug too. Old ones were brittle and nasty. Little seaform in intake, clean out oil separator. Washed...

Yep sure did! Melfunkshun came down an hung out with us the whole day! Had a great time joking around and shootin the ****!

Know how these engines like cool air? It was -15c this morning, and the tires felt like bowling balls. I couldn't put full power down on the highway without spinning the tires! :burnout:

Drove it 160 km to her winter home, poured fuel stabilizer in the tank, and parked her for the winter. Two weeks later than usual too.

Letme start off by saying I did not write that!!! My friend who owns an 95 Impala SS thought it would be cool to go on my login and write something stupid on my account. He hates the damn Marauder and quit frankly hates seein me on the forums responding to threads like this! He thinks I have no life cause im on the forums!! What a damn loser he is!!:argue:

Hahahahaha!!!

Tell him for me that as a person who owned a 94 Impala SS and currently owns a 96 Impala SS & 03 MM 300a - the MM is by far the better vehicle.

LMAO! PonyUp used to give me the same exact ****! Then he bought a black CV Sport, then a modded black MM, then a blue MM, then a Vortec, headers, exhaust..... A trip to Louisville four years straight, numerous local meets, a few sets of rear tires, his first tool set, logging on here and a few thousand posts later....

Priceless.

Thats something special right there. When I first seen the MM back in late 2006 I was like a kid in a candy store. I knew I had to have it right away. 6 months later I got my first MM in mid 2007 and it changed my life right away. I never had nothing growing up til I got the car of my dreams. I love this car alot and it even drove a my ex crazy that I cared more about cleaning my car and not driving it in the winter that she hated me so much for that and eventually left me!!

tell him that I ran a ss and pulled it and all i have is a can tune and cai I hear ya!! I try doing my part when I see somebody trying to diss my car I take revenge right away!! Matter of fact my cousin who was talking the smack about the MM just walked in right now and he's giving me **** already!! His smart a** reply is that it you couldn't beat an Impala stock for stock VS a Marauder. Now thats his smart a** reply so don't flame me.:flamer:

Hahahahaha!!!

Yes I remember meeting Babcock and him telling me that he felt the current MM by far is better or exceeds the 94-96 Impala SS. I agreed with that.

I never hated the SS I always liked em when I was younger and always thought they look sharp and they looked like some gangster a** cars. Thing is they made over 70,000 of em so alot of people got the chance of driving and owning one. The MM is by far the rarer vehicle and nobody really sees these cars everyday. Now in days I dont see too many Impala SS's like how I did in the late 90's growing up as kid.

Even the MM i don't see one everyday or every other day. A Marauder sighting is like 1 or 2 a month if im lucky.

Thing is when I ask some of my close friends what they think of the MM. First thing they say is it took Ford 7+ years to compeite with a vehicle thats no longer made. Ford was pretty late when they stepped up the plate and I must admit it too.

I will always love the SS just because of the simple fact is thats what made the Marauder. Thats what pushed Ford to make this special car. So hate it or love it the Impala SS will always get credit in my book for pushing Ford to make the MM.

Replaced the 2 front tires with Cooper RS3-A in the stock size for a decent price & aligned the front end to carfixer's specs. Another garage that I had taken to align the front end 9 months ago & had said that they followed carfixer's specifications were full of s#*t because the tabs on the lower control arm bolts were still there & probably why they did not print out the alignment results. :mad2: :fire: :cheesed: So now, I have the broken tabs in my posession & a new local tire vendor has earned my business.:bows:

Well after being on deaths door since Tuesday with the viral "gunk" that's going around, today I felt better - only half dead.

Good enough to get MM in the air to do what I wanted to do on Thanksgiving day (when it was 60* - now doing when 30*... :shake:) before having to return to the working world tomorrow.

Could be worse I suppose, could be snowing!

Had a tiny coolant leak develope last week. The kind you can't see, just smell. One good thing from doing today when weather was colder, the leak became visable. Loose hose-clamp on inter-cooler adapter - all fixed!

Drained the 75w/90 from diff & refilled with the Mobil 1 Synth 140 per FOMOCO's requirements & added the tiny stinky bottle of magical mystery fluid from my favorite Ford parts dude - thanks Nico!!! :D Now Project 4.10s is complete. :burnout:

While under MM noticed the reat tires are getting thin! Not sure why this is as I had a lot of tread on them in August when I checked just before starting the T242 install... --------:)--------:D-------:burnout:

Guess I'll be getting new rears with the new fronts that are needed in the spring.

Rotors are fine. Just a little coloration, no gouging.

I"m changing the pads to Wagner ceramic soon though, along with 4 new calipers, hoses, master cylinder and brake booster. The brakes are a bit weak and I want the whole system re-done. I just need a day off when it's warm out.

Put 35 miles on the odometer...now reads over 23,000...YIKES...I have GOT to STOP putting all those miles on the boy.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO kidding.
Today is another day like yesterday hereabouts...now where can I go???

(Yesterday)

Tweaked my exhaust piping, had some V-band clamps installed last week and the drivers tip was rubbing up against the frame making a whole bunch of noise so that was corrected.

Cleaned the MAF, IAC and TB. Intake and TB were damp with oil so MuscleMerc's catch can isn't catching it all... I'm pretty sure now I will be closing off the PCV system and doing breathers when I do my new engine.

Nice car and set up and garage!

Blue car got some TLC today. Mothers Glass Polish with a 3M headlight restore polish pad to all 8 windows. That was NOT fun but needed. It made a heck of a mess too, but I had to do it. This car had heavy water stains etched in the paint and glass. Everyday I work on this car it looks better and better.

The picture below was the week before hand compounding and polishing the lower sections and around the door edge guard removing hard water stains in the clear.

Flushed heater core, wow lots of crap in that thing. Here's hoping I get heat now

Replaced leaking transfercase rear output seal
New front shocks (rears on order)
Ran out of time before I could install the new spark plugs, will do when the rear shocks get done

I had a few things to do to my DBP yesterday, I installed my audiophile 6 disk stereo, changed all 5 of my autometer gauge bulbs to green bulbs to eliminate the rubber caps that were falling apart, replaced the heat exchanger fan switch that had a bad LED, and took it to get emmisions & inspection.

Put rebuilt forks back onto a Cr125, without knocking it off the stand and into the Marauder.

Also had a wine bottle explode in the garage and none of the glass parts hit the Marauder.

Bought an Escape Audiophile radio on eBay for $110. Received it on 1/8. The corner of the shipping box was crushed but the radio looked OK. Told the seller just in case. Original picture showed no crack.

Started the install today and find that the bezel was cracked. Continue the install. Radio turns on and sounds good. Try to load a CD and....... IT WON'T LOAD!! :banghead::mad:

I was so psyched for this radio and now I have to deal with getting my $$ back.
