I changed the oil yesterday and gonna keep an eye on a possible leak at the oil filter housing gasket.
I put it on a lift and found out that the power steering pump is leaking out of the front seal. It is not bad but I am keeping an eye on it.

All I did was fill up the car, check the oil in the engine and blower today.

I'll include yesterday and today:
Yesterday:
-Replaced coolant and thermostat/o-ring with Motorcraft pieces
-Drive for 30 minutes, it was fine... went into town and had the dreaded hot temp gauge after cooling system service, so I burped the cooling system several times. All seems to be well on subsequent test drives.
Today:
-Spent two hours detailing interior. Toothbrushed the nooks and crannies, wiped everything with a damp towel, conditioned the seats with Lexol, vacuumed everything well, Armor All'd dash, console, door panels, cleaned interior windows.
-Topped off the rear end (barely needed any) because of leaking pinion seal that I will replace in the coming weeks
-Inspected belt, all hoses, replaced air filter, checked all fluid levels and tire pressures
Tomorrow:
-Wash and detail outside of car.
Most of this work is being done in prep for the Hot Rod Power Tour, the last 4 days of which I will be taking part in (from Bowlin Green, KY to Mobile, AL).
My car has 156k miles.

Sounds like you made out better than we did! We spent almost 2 hours driving in the rain comming home on route 81 doing about 55 MPH. And rain off and on until we hit CT then it was smooth sailing the rest of the way in the sun.
Called and added one more thing I forgot to the work order on the Grand Marquis. The ignition box went out and the bottle is being installed. The new box is in now.

No, I had the rear tires put on the Weldcrfat widened wheels, so now I have 2 spare wheels. Since I have TCE's Wilwood brake upgrade in the front, the do-nut spare won't work in the front. You have an '03, all the tires are the same size, no?

8/18 balanced both front tires. Left one needed more stick-on weights.

Drained the old engine coolant. Used a 3/8" clearhose to direct the fluid to a container. The drain **** design doesn't work too well though. I found it leaks when you open it and it doesn't allow good flow if it is not opened all the way.
Flushed the radiator with water. Closed the drain ****. Added a rust removal products to the system. This wasn't really needed but I want the car to last forever). Ran the engine for about 20 minutes with the produce in it (per manufacturer recommendations). Drained the product, filled the radiator with water, ran the engine for about 15 minutes. Drained the water. Closed the drain **** one last time and applied new antifreeze coolant at about a 60% ratio with distilled water.
Took the car for a drive afterwards. Checked the level of antifreeze coolant and it was low (this was expected). Will top it off in a little while.
This took a while considering I was waiting for the engine to cool off in between.

I was getting terrible feedback from the left front tire. After replacing the shock with OEM, I found the problem (broken weld). I replaced the coil springs with MOOG. Big mistake, the MOOG coils raised the front end of the car by 1". Has anyone cut a coil to lower the car?
Second issue I had was an oil leak which came from the oil adapter gasket. It was $10 for the part and is so nice not to have oil dripping everyday. Make sure you line up the gasket to ensure the ford dealership or part store sells you the right gasket.

Yesterday I installed my dead pedal and new front rotors and ceramic pads on my DD Marauder. I also purchased the rear rotors and pads but will put them on next weekend. Also adjusted the front headlights but now I can see I need new lenses as these look really scratched up. When I get those I'll put that HID kit I have in it. Heck, I might even put the fog lights back in!
Fri evening I changed the oil, then went to the drag strip and made three passes... Yesterday I pulled the radio/tape/CD to try to get it to accept a disc... I'd previously partially dissembled the load mechanism to retrieve a CD(the Johnny Cash disc that Bawazir was playing in his videos) but then it would not accept a disc... Found I'd missed getting one of the levers back in it's slot, seems to be fine now... Today it rained so she set in the garage...

Called to see if the roll cage was done on the GM. Not ready yet!
Washed and waxed Silverback and to my dismay several more scratches have been inflicted upon his silver birch coat.
But more disconcerting is that the paint/clear coat is bubbling in two patches on the roof. Rust is bleeding through. The size is about 2 to 3 square inches.
Unfortunately the car is not protected from the elements and is a daily driver. I asked Patricia if I could erect a metal cover over the driveway. She said, "not no but heck no".
The hood or her GM has completely faded out. No shine whatsoever. So there.

Figured out which @#*%& idler pulley is making noise.
Got the EQ and all the adjustments dialed in on the DNX 9140 with the new 6X9s and the modded sub. Cranks now!

I found the easiest way to do this is get a can of WD-40 (with the little red straw stuck in the nozzle) and while the car is idling, blast each pulley in the face until you hit the one that quits squeaking. I'm mad crazy scientific. :D

That or shoot each pulley one at a time with a high powered rifle... until it stops squeaking. :uzi: Oh... wait... we're talking Marauders here. That's how you diagnose Neons. :shake: Wrong forum...:o Carry on... Carry on...

I actually saw a nice one today. Black, clean, sounded half decent. Didn't want to play, tho.

Yup, and I found it by squirting it with CRC 6-56, 1st shot. just had to let it run for 20 minutes before it started.

The car is still clean and shiny from last weekend so no wash/wax this weekend. However, I cleaned and conditioned the leather seats. Fist time using Meguiars Gold Class Rich Leather Spray. Not too bad. I had wanted to use the Zaino leather cleaner/conditioner but failed to order it the last time I placed an order. I guess it'll have to wait.
Seats have a nice mild shine from the conditioner.
Have a great week and enjoy your Marauder!

I installed my trans last night, did it solo.
Everything went smoothly: converter seated nicely, no binding or anything with the flex-plate, went real good.
The suck part is the 100 yr old wooden floor in that garage.
A floor jack, a tranny jack and creeper, anything with wheels is a wicked PITA. Because of this, my arms/back are wicked sore, but so glad it's in.
When I went to bolt on the midpipe(BBK OR H), I was running into interference with the shift lever, and also the shift cable bracket. What's weird is I originally was using a BBK catted X, and that fit nice. I split the H and basically the H is about 4" too narrow. Looks like an easy fix, though. I'll just grab a short piece of pipe and weld it up.

More credit to you sir. Its lift or nothing for me. I spent too many years laying on a concrete floor working on trucks.

This weekend, one of my mufflers was hanging down a little lower then normal. I picked it up and bent the hanger into place, then took it for a drive and it seemed to take out the vibration I was feeling at certain RPMs. The rest of the weekend was spent working on friends cars.
