I spent 4 hours swapping new rotors/pads and half that time swearing at the rear rotors to come off. I also switched the radio with a Audiophile unit I picked up off ebay for 50 bucks in perfect condition.

Along with a dead pedal 2bar map sensor and some base calibration
Looks like new maf sensor is in order along with a 3.2 pulley
Unfortunately billetflow only has red and well......yeah exactly
Looks like my lathe will be put to use tomorrow :D
Anyone else need pulley for a trilogy?

I was going to do that but instead removed all the trunk lining and sprayed everything with undercoating. Sound and rust protection.
the trunk undercoating wont really do alot for sound, you need something that absorbs sound waves

Mostly done for rust, not that there was any. It looks nice too even though it's covered by the liner. Car dealerships still call the undercoating "sound shield". I consider it "oxygen shield" because without oxygen, rust can't form.
I always think of the car shows I watch where the entire underbody of the car is rusted out. Just like my son's 1990 Celica.
I have retired my car from winter driving starting this year.

It's actually over the past two weeks, but I did install a musclemerc oil catch can today. New alternator, and Blue filter, were done last weekend. My MM goes in on Monday for hail damage, and to paint n install my spoiler.

Replaced my one year old burnt to a crisp DB electrical starter with this cute little piece. It's clockable for perfect fit. Once I got it where I had to have it, she bolted right in and the wires reached just fine. However the top bolt was way more involved over stock!! I damn near left it out. But with it being a high torque unit, and my OCD, i prevailed. When starting its much more quiet and hauls serious ass! Sounds more like a Lambo would sound.
Still only seeing 13.1 at the PCM but 14.2 at everything else, so I'm not done as I hoped yet. Next up: wiring..

Attended a car show this weekend:

Got stuck. Ended up getting a jump and taking the car to a FLAPs. Battery had a bad cell (I have not changed the Motorcraft battery since I purchased the car 6 years ago), so I had to purchase a new Motorcraft unit.
After being at a car show with an open grill and ash and greasy debris raining down on the car, I gave her a bath.
I used ONR (http://www.autogeek.net/no-rinse-wash-and-wax.html (http://www.autogeek.net/no-rinse-wash-and-wax.html)), using the two-bucket method inside the garage, out of the hot sun.

Within the past week on the Marauder, I now have an LCM with ALL relays in it upgraded, thanks to FBM, changed the belt tensioner & replaced the alternator. The original alternator still works, but it has a couple of slightly noisy bearings in it & was getting louder, especially from a cold start after a few months.

It wasn't a competition show, just a free show that my hometown has every month. Lots of cars, mostly classics. They let some newer cars in over the summer when the numbers are down a bit. We still had around 100-125 cars.
However, I did get a lot of looks, compliments, and "Never seen one of these out before..." type of looks comin my way :coolman: I grew up goin to the show, now I'm able to show my own car. Always a good time.

Removed all 4 wheels, wire wheeled with air compressor the brake calipers, caliper holders and rotors. Then painted them with Dupli-Color caliper paint. Serviced brakes, reinstalled.
Note: All my other cars I have used Krylon or TremClad and go better results.
I believe the brush paint left lines of brush strokes, I wasn't happy with the $25.99 kit when a $6 can of Krylon do same job and would dry in 10 min vs 24 hours. I know the proper way is to have it media or sand blasted but i did the poor mans version of detailing the brakes. Looks waaaay better than the rusty calipers and rotors than before.
I also tested the alternator and battery...Alternator at 12.47 V when running. Time for new Alt. Bat Good.
Last, pulled dr side fog lamp out. Was full of crap. Dont know what but when removed all kinds of rust and the chrome plastic came off. Re installed. Inside lamp doesnt look pretty but sure is better when one(brighter...unlike me)

In the last week, I did a lot to my black marauder. I changed the steering shaft, new front tires, an alignment, had the exhaust from my blue mm modified to fit my Mandrel Bending Solutions.
Last night I decided I was sick of the the huge dent on my fender. I grinded the paint off, used my stud gun to weld studs on and pulled the dent. I gave it a skim coat of filler, sanded it, and a coat of primer to protect it overnight. I should be it finished up today.

This past weekend I pulled the cover off the foxbody for only the second time this year. Put the new 130amp 3G alternator on, measured for a new belt since the pulley is larger than stock (alternator was for a 3.8 V6 Taurus) and ran new 4ga power/charge wires.
Instead of running a longer belt and simplify things in the future figured I needed a 47/48mm pulley for the alternator so ordered that along with a new battery tray as I tore up the old one when removing a lot of old wiring.
New parts are in and will be running new ground wires this weekend and maybe an oil change.

Pulled apart everything on the front of the motor and discovered my timing chain guides look practically brand new with 115k on them. I also had plastic tensioners instead of metal, good thing I new ones coming. I'm guessing the chain noise I was hearing at idle/low RPM when the engine is cold could be the tensioners. They allowed a TON of slack on the chains when the engine was off.

While doing an oil change Thursday before taking it to upstate New York for the holiday weekend I saw that the left rear brake backing plate was wet with gear oil :mad2:
In addition to replacing both axle shafts and bearings I had to replace the parking brake shoes as the left one was soaked in gear oil. Rear rotors also replaced so the new shoes would have a nice surface to grab.
Even though I was on a short timetable it was the perfect time to finally replace the worn out rear clutches. I had one of my guys run out to S-K Speed to pick up the Ford Racing track-lok kit. Found some Ford 75w140 locally and soaked the new clutch plates for an hour in a mix of gear oil and friction modifier (soaking eliminates chatter and the need for doing a bunch of figure 8's to break in the new clutches)
Long story short I got it all done, and all is great :burn:
I wanted to take pictures, but covered in nasty stinky gear oil I said f%#k it

Got the foxbody up and running after 4 years of sitting. New 3g 130amp alternator (stock was 2g 95amp MAX), upgraded 12v power wires and battery terminals.
Once the battery was hooked up, being built Ford tough it turned over on the first full crank after bumping it several times. Now have a long list of things to do to it since nothing is happening with the Marauder and playing the waiting game.
Fox for life!

Had the steer tires RoadForce balanced.
Wow! Smooth as glass.
When I got them new last September they were great except an out of balance hop especially when they were cold.
Had balanced again in Atl. Better but still a slight vibe.
It's gotten worse over last couple months so got pissed & pulled off Tuesday night. Dropped off at F&F Wednesday morning, picked up & reinstalled last night and wow! Smooth driving today.
Don't think I'll bother with regular spin-balancing anymore...

Had the front end aligned on the Marauder to carfixer's specs, balance & rotated tires side to side on the same axle. Also discovered the right side rear axle has too much play for my liking. The left rear axle has a little movement, but not as bad as the right side. :mad2: Probably got hit with the dreaded "soft axle" problem as we all know about & would have to take it to my mechanic to have a look at it. :violin: :depress:

I'm months behind on what I've done to my car lately, so here are the highlights:
-Another summer of driving and parking in urban Chicago gave me a few more bumper dings
-Replaced BCM
-Parked in the rain at night, perpendicular behind my Best Man's car at my bachelor party so he later backed into my driver's quarter panel and crumpled it
-Somehow cracked my radiator cooling fan; replaced in Best Man's driveway with OEM in 20 minutes
-Packed $900 of booze in my Marauder for my wedding reception (~20 cases of beer in the trunk, 2 cases liquor, 2 cases wine in the backseat)
-Got backed into lightly at my wedding; no investigation launched
-Didn't have time between wedding stuff to get any paint or body work done before MV12 came to the city I'm living in, so all dents, dings, and cracks will be accompanying me to my first Marauderville
I envsioned my car looking better for MV12, but life got in the way, so I'll park away from the best looking cars so I don't ruin your pictures.

It read will work for food.
I figure what the heck, I'm leaving for mv12 in the a.m. and haven't had time to clean up my ride so I'll give the lad some work.
He said he would only work for red bull and skittles, for some reason the stores nearest where he stayed were sold out-weird.
So I go out of my way to find a gas station who had both (thanks for the input in the gas thread, I was nearing empty and at a loss for where I should fill up). Anyway, the lad slams the red bull, starts nibbling on the skittles and went to town.
He was so cute I wanted to bring him home! So I called the wife but she said no :(

And you will like the Caddys.
I had previously mentioned a clicking noise coming from the front end. Troubleshot and found the tie rod ends, both sides, were the cause. Replaced, problem fixed.

New "belt with strip" on all 4 doors. No more bubbling up under the rubber. Took a knife and cut back the rubber on one of the old ones to see what was up. It was a white powder residue of some kind. I hope these new ones don't do it again. No more winters for my car, so if it is salt related, I'll be ok. $177 shipped from Tasca, so they better last a long time. As in forever.
