Took the MM out for a ride yesterday evening. Tried to roll down the drivers side front windows and heard the regulator cable let go. Good thing I ordered all four regulators w/motors when I had to replace the passenger side front about a year ago. Will be replacing it tomorrow or Monday depending on the weather.

After a few parts issues and several days of procrastination I finnaly changed out the wiper motor in my Marauder. The old wiper motor failed because the drain was packed full of who knows what.

While I was there I replaced to aftermarket bcm with a Motorcraft version that I added a better solder to. I also put on a new belt tensioner for the 3 day old serpentine belt. Then I hand washed the car and put it back in the garage.

Replaced (for free) Costco interstate battery in black "Vader MM". No stress, no hassle, no receipt... Simply refunded exact same amount as new battery, and then rang new battery up! Then I installed and washed and waxed the beast.

Older neighbor car guy across the street came over to tell me "how beautiful" the black sounds, and that he watches all of the car shows (Kendigit, Counting cars, etc...) and that none of them sound as nice as the Marauder.

Said that he could hear me and the low rumble 3 blocks away when I came home.

As I usually do, I will wax the car one more time after it cools down tonight.

Changed my BCM yesterday. Repaired it six or so years ago with some copper wicking, and didn't want to admit it finally failed. But, after going through the pinpoint tests to find the cause of my intermittent high-low blower action, even that pointed to the BCM.
The solder joints on the old one look fine, and pass continuity tests. But, the problem is gone with the replacement, so...

Also, changed the spark plugs. Old Champions ran for about 4-5 years, but were definitely worn out. Put in Bosch platinums. Indexed each plug, pointing the opening between the intake valves (basically, up - electrode towards exhaust, which is down). After reading about it some more tonight, turns out you want to point the opening between the exhaust valves (electrode between the intakes), but I'm not going to re-do them.

It's own self! The F1's come with a plastic nose cone that's apparently just screwed in... After a quick google search I see this is by far not the first since around '09.

I call them yesterday to get an estimate and they wouldn't give out squat without a $115 fee and $40 shipping both ways, not even a worst case. What annoys me the most is them after at least SIX years of knowing the fault they still play absolutely STUPID!

"So the air filter got sucked in???"

No, YOUR FACTORY NOSE CONE like I just said.

HUH? That's odd..

The throttle stuck for a short time, killed and clutched it. Inspected it, pulled the cone out and limped it the 1/4 mile back home. Took the belt off, throttle was fine again. Cranked her up and she sounded quieter than a brand new Honda.

I shut her back down, shut the hood. It gouged my piping pretty good but no holes that I could see. I'll pop the intercooler and intake later for inspection. At least it's all forged and all but five valves are Stainless. (Long story if you don't recall why)

I have no idea what direction I'll go from here, I don't even want to look at it. Twins, another F1, D1, original engine N/A and just enjoy it, sell it, no clue. I'm kinda broke this year so that doesn't help put me into the mood of shoveling more money into something that I was burned out on years ago..

Two weekends ago I rebuilt the cooling system in the 1998 Ranger. New radiator, radiator cap, upper & lower radiator hoses, both heater hoses, flush and refill with fresh coolant.

I didn't replace the water pump or thermostat since they were done a year ago when I replaced the timing chain & gears.

Running much cooler now.

It was on a city street, speed limit was a posted 45mph. Nobody on the road tho which I made sure b4 I floored it. Probably followed Me for about 3 miles till I reached My destination. Same here a few months ago! Disturbing isn't it?

I bought mine a year and a half old and since day one all the lighting, especially the dash and gauges have danced to the music. The only thing that could have solved it in my case was all the LED lighting I did through out last spring. I just didn't notice till a couple of months ago.

Street tune, LOL.

You should get a NJ Collectors Inspection:

http://www.state.nj.us/mvc/Vehicle/collector_vehicles.htm

You only have to prove that you don't drive more than 3K miles a year ( or less than 6K in two years).

It's great!

Mine is registered at my sisters where the county she is in doesn't do testing either, but now that I have "collector" plates so I can move it to my place as they are emissions exempt. They are not to be used as daily drivers which you have to prove to get a collector plate anyway by having another vehicle registered to you. I don't drive mine daily anyway so all is good.

At least we don't have those awful plain black numbers like in Europe.

Black&Gifted
11-23-2016, 10:45 AM
Front plates ruin the lines of the car/bumper. I never run front plates. I can understand it on a dime a dozen type vehicles, but not on one where the bumper is unique and no longer available, so I'm not drilling into the bumper cover.

Does this increase the likelihood of getting pulled over? Yes. But its only happened twice in the 12 years I've lived in texas.

Vanity plates are nice, but not my preference. Makes the car stand out more and I don't like people being able to identify my cars that way. Increases potential for it to be a target.

Maybe if you would have actually bought the submersible fuel line , and fuel injection clamps as I told you to you wouldn't have had that issue!

It is NOT my responsibility to finance parts for YOUR car! I gave you enough free parts , and parts you never paid for!

Not sure what the turbo car has to do with anything or why your acting as if you know LJ since you clearly do not.

So you Macgyver my fuel pump and then tell me I didn't supply all of the parts? Regardless if they weren't supplied, why attempt to install it? Thanks for indirectly admitting to mechanical neglegance. And as for as for your "LJ" statement, you are exactly right. I don't know him personally but his tuner does. You won't admit it but you suck at lying about owning the car and mechanics.

you seriously need to get a life you sound like a kakling woman who can't move on , and you are extremely ignorant to the fact that you were more than needy about a car you couldn't afford to build , the entire time you continually begged for parts stating you didn't have the money for this part , or that part , why install it anyway? because you wouldn't stop crying about it!

so go ahead and continue acting like the immature child that you are , all of my projects have the funds to be completed!
