Weather was nice on Sunday so I took my Marauder out of storage and met up with a friend. His car is a daily driver and he put CVPI steel wheels on it for the winter, is there anybody else who here who does that? I've been considering to do it myself as mine will become a daily very soon (have to sell my Audi, can't afford having 3 cars any longer but that's a story for another time)
These represent 20% of the German Marauder population and are the only 2 in my state which has the same population as Florida but in the size of Maryland.

Quite a few of us here in the states did that. I drove mine year round in the central New York State snowbelt for the 1st four years of its life. There is a thread on here about what size tires to use so the computer operates correctly. These cars are pretty good in snow with dedicated snow tires. Due to our extreme weather I used studded tires.

Ordered up a new wiper cowl. Sick of dried up old plastic/rubber and the crap at the boneyard. Rather expensive, but worth it.
Next I think I will order new carpet and line the floor with dynamat type stuff they use for HVAC work available for cheap at the local Home Depot.

Now since my Marauder is a daily driver I use snows on steelies for the winter. With Yokohama Ice Guard's the car is great in the snow. I run front size 225/60/16, and rears 235/65/16 even though I don't have traction control I like to keep the stance that the car has. I use Mercury Mountainer center caps... to me they look more natural with the Mercury emblem.

Thanks for your thoughts. Problem is that I still have a perfecltly good set of winter tyres for the stock wheels from the previous owner, I've never used them so they are almost brand new. Do you know if anyone makes 18'' steelies that I could use them on? Been looking around and couldn't find anything, largest size for steelies seems to be 17''

A nice paint job with proper prep, tear down, base coat, clear coat, will be $6-8k at least.

Stop using white wax and go with a color tinted wax
If the paint isn't cracked, possibly cut, buff, dewax, fill in the bigger pits and color wax.
What color is your car?

The cost of a repaint will depend on level of prep required, body work required, cost of materials and cost of labor.

Got new tires yesterday. Went with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+. Very happy with the feel of the car. The level of comfort stayed the same, but it feels quite a bit more stable. The ass is planted better and there isn't as much push. I didn't get to really push them to the limit yet, but did enough to know I'm gonna like these tires a lot. The grip is good enough that I can't do as good of a burnout now... Not that I want to very often with what a set of good tires cost these days.

those look like standard heat checks from the die cast tool. common after so many 1300 degree aluminum, shots are run thru the tool. every die cast tool gets them, generally not an issue. I've built andcrrpaired die cast tools for 10 years before I went strictly plastic injection molds.

Had help from trilogy, ups, Amazon, McMaster Carr, a couple members via texts etc., but most importantly my son and brother.
Still tying up loose ends but almost there.

A couple thousand into it since I bought it last year trying to get it to run right.

Not a priority, but I really do want to return the OEM green look.
Plus, the delete looks bubba'd. Those bright spots aren't from the camera, the cluster is unevenly lit. And everthing below the cluster, with the execption of the aftermarket boost and oil pressure gauges (in the OEM volt and op positions) is still green.
Looks half done. Though, I'm glad it's half done, because the electrical system "upgrades" have been a nightmare un*****ing on this car.

You'll notice the sound deadening immediately. Plus it's actually fun as hell to do. Get a wooden roller. It really helps lay it down.

Finally got around to posting about my project. Rebuilt Eaton sitting on the lower intake for now. Jerrys brackets and COT came in the other day and was very impressed by the quality.
Jerry, YOU DA MAN!
Also installed the 4379 Autometer A/F gauge along with the boost gauge so that I don't have to deal with them later when I finally throw the project together.
Other than that, smooth sailing so far. Probably should make a new thread at some point with the progress I've made from start till finish.

Today I re-attached my rear spoiler. When the marauder came out of winter storage, the rear wing was loose. The dealership I purchased the car (new) from 13 years ago only used double sided tape to attach the wing. They never drilled and bolted it on.
In looking back, they saved my trunk from rusting around the holes, as there are none. My body shop friend and I spent about an hour cleaning off the old glue, and then applying the 50 mm wide double-sided, 3M foam body tape.
The wing is now good for another 13 years!

How much of the dash behind the new head unit did you have to cut out er0413? Don't get me wrong, your install looks great , but I am personally hesitant to "modify" any part that I cannot undue.
When I did mine I didn't have to cut anything out of it. I've had 2 different double dins with no modifications done to the car

Yes Sir, It was way too short of a trip that is for sure but lots of fun. There was a nice CTS-V but traffic was still pretty heavy heading to Vegas at 2330. We need to plan something in Tahoe, I have at least one coming so far:burnout:
Gave the MM over to my son, the Honda mech, and he replaced the turn signal stalk assembly. Tricky he said. Got the part from ABC auto parts, OEM, $85.00, P/N SW6489.

There's a stock cobra lower pulley and a billetflow 3.4 up top for start up, then we'll see what combo works best after that, the headers are kooks long tube w/ x pipe, big 10 mufflers and.stainless works tail pipes and tips.
