Installed the GTR 2.0 Ultra headlight bulbs today I got from Panther lights. See pics below, the pics with the fog lights are the Morimoto Fog lights from Panther lights also. I took a picture with only 1 bulb replaced so you can see the difference, the passenger bulb was a phillips extreme or similar one I had put in.

Updated with more pics, all I can say is WOW!!!! These are brighter than I thought they were going to be

So, um, yeaaah...

A week ago brake light comes on in my mother's car (2001 Honda civic); I pop hood and notice fluid is low, so go buy some brake fluid and top it off. After 2-3 days the light is still on (she doesn't drive it every day), notice fresh fluid spots on garage floor so something is leaking; make an appointment to have car looked at today. I follow her to shop; notice the 3rd brake light isn't working on the way. After giving the mechanic the key and explanation of what is wrong/needs attention, we get in my car to go home...my car won't start. It turns over, but is not getting fuel...suspect fuel pump crapped out right at that moment. So, go back inside garage and give them the key to MY car and get the key back to my mother's car, leave MY car at garage and come home in my mother's car...like, really?:help:

Sometimes that will get the fuel pump to run again.

Well, it's hard to do something one isn't aware of...lol. And besides, I would have had to make the tough decision to ask my 82 y/o mother if she wanted to either bang on the fuel tank or cycle the ignition. :D
At any rate, the car has 178k on it and the fuel pump was not cycling on when trying to start, so regardless if I could have gotten it to start up again it needs a new fuel pump. Might as well replace the fuel filter as well as it's been about 50k miles and 4-5 years since last time.

A non performance way of spending $800....and NO i cam not capable to changing the window motor myself, but the other stuff he's doing cheap. I'll save SOME money on this, but wow.

Crap, this just reminded me that I have yet to get my front passenger window fixed. I put it on hold when it broke 3 years ago, then 2 years ago the driver's front window broke, which I did have repaired (which I created a thread about that). I guess since I had that one fixed it caused me to completely forget about the passenger side.

Over the past month I've bought:

- Switch bezels for both front doors ($100)
- Used/good condition interior carpeting since mine is mildewed ($60)
- Headlamp assemblies because mine have started to get condensation inside; found a good price on a new pair and jumped on 'em ($250)
- Had windshield replaced a week ago; has had long crack in it since 2015/6 ($350)

And now $760 for the fuel pump. I don't mind spending the money, just doing it all over a short span of time is knocking the wind out of my sails...

Quite a few tasteful mods already done and a whole list of new ones to be added. Super clean body, already removed the visor, silly air horns will be in the trash tomorrow.

Purchased with a knock from the oil pan at a greatly discounted price, no biggie, the prices on these parts are literally laughable when compared to modular… Anyways, get that yanked and sent off for machining, and get some rear fenders ordered from LMC for now.

Plans are to slam it and restomod it. All new suspension, nice big wheels tucked up in the fenders, Wilwoods all around, and the rest is bits and pieces.

Finally replaced the broken moon roof sliders and fixed the leaking drain hose (there is one at each corner of the moon roof frame).

I made the mistake of trying to open it one morning when the temp was below freezing, and both of them cracked on the plastic part. Shoddy design for sure, and I wasn't looking forward to the job, thinking I would have to remove the headliner and the entire frame itself, which runs the length of the roof, but I had put it off long enough and the roof would oscillate at speeds over 65 MPH without anything to hold the back of it down.

This job *can* be done without having to remove the entire frame assembly, it just requires removing the moon roof, which is held on by four Torx t-20 screws, notching the inside frame rail on each side with a Dremel tool, removing the broken sliders, and installing the new ones in a downward fashion towards the outside rail.

The sliders are available for about $65 on eBay. You'll want to notch the inside of the rails towards the front, not the back, and the sliders have two metal tabs which hook into plastic inserts on the cable which moves them backwards and forwards. Tap lightly on the metal part, not the plastic, to seat them in the channel.

I'll post some pics if anyone is interested.

It’s been on my mind but hate to take away from the look at all. They also sell a black chain cover but I bought chrome chains so…

For now I really laid on the paint in that area. This matte black from SPEEDOKOTE flowed so smoothly! The easiest I’ve ever sprayed, you literally can’t hose it up!

I was also thinking of using a clear hose and heating it up to take shape? I actually do plan to use the truck as a truck (carefully), the same way I did for the Marauder. My vehicles must help work off some of the dept LOL.

Over the years the marauder hauled lawnmowers, it’s current engine from Zacks garage to mine, dirt, mulch, actually just about everything home and car related, even been known to joust with trim boards out the passenger window! Always overly careful but yes they are working queens. [emoji16]

New 3” exhaust. Nothing fancy, not even my normal stainless. 2 box’s of Amazon builder kit and 2 cheap Dynamax muffs.

I did take the time to at least cut the leaky 2 1/2” 3 bolt completely angled just wrong flanges off the block huggers and weld on 3” V bands this time exiting straight down and looking right at the oil pan.

All in $352 and it ended up with one of the most amazing sounds I could ask for! Just a nice deep and choppy idle and zero raspy on the revs. It seems I can never decide on the right exhaust and I finally caught a break..

Thanks Eric! The more I thought about going stainless on something that will never see moisture it just seemed like wasteful spending? I’m in so deep on what was supposed to be a simple budget build I felt it was time to start cutting some corners in places that don’t really matter.

Besides I could use the gas money at $6.99 for 93 and averaging 7MPG so far.. Really not much different than the Marauder but a buck a mile is just nuts!

I’ve already spent more on this turd than what I sold the Marauder for and still have a complete interior, front and rear suspension, new big wheels/tires, and hopefully some big brakes! Oh well, that’s adult toys for ya!

I hit the 100 mile mark on my new rebuilt engine. Car was out of commission for about 3.5 months while I was dealing with it and being a full-time engineering student. Been running mostly trouble-free, and with the addition of Stainless LT headers and a high stall TC.

Took the Silver out for 55 min freeway ride each way, to see another SB that was for sale in the Bay Area (NorCal). It was a 100,000 mile hashed car, interior bad, paint bad, wheels bad, hood and trunk lid scratched, sun fade and clear coat missing, no records, and the kid (was his Dad’s car had stared at $14,000 and said it was clean. But my SB needed the ride, as we are now at 33,000 miles and it hadn’t really been driven for a year or so….

You know, I did this years ago, and couldn't find the resistor at all. Someone suggested I just bridge the connection with solder and it actually worked. Scariest part was unsnapping the overhead console from the headliner, hoping I wouldn't break it.

Car has sat for months for me to get the time to work on it, so: new battery, new belt, oil & filter change, new KYB rear shocks, new Metco control arm bushings, and clean up the old arms and replace zerk fittings and chassis lube everything, Gunk degrease rear axle and trans pan, wash engine, new fuel filter, oil S&B 9" air filter, clean TB and MAF sensor, put on stock cold air kit, and been driving it everywhere with expired tags trying to get the "Not ready" P-1000 code to disappear so I can get it smogged. Repairing broken window / door lock switch panel as rear tab snapped off.

FINALLY, reviewing all the paint damage a hack mobile car washing guy did to all my paint edges, door handle upper surfaces, tops of the mirrors, and rear spoiler by washing the car in hot sun with the hardest water in America, then "fixing" spotting by taking an industrial buffer and burning holes in the car paint, burning all sharp edges down to bare metal, revealing white plastic under the spoiler edges, and literally chipping metal off the leading hood edge, while giving me a "discount." I'm now out a minimum of $4K min to get the car painted. He offered to "detail the engine and interior" but Thank god I said no. I was just busy and lazy and wanted the car washed, and offered for him to use my shady driveway and soft water bib, but he knew better. I feel like an idiot, and should have never trusted this hack.

Switched out the fuel pump assembly. Had to unf**** the hack job the dude before me did to it. He clocked the assembly incorrectly, then bent the fuel line into the tank to make it fit. That was in addition to cutting some of the wires and re-connecting them with a twist and some electric tape.

If anyone has a good source for an OEM fuel pump id love to get a new one.

Glad its done. Having a fuel gauge and not having the car fuel starve during left turns is a nice change!

I've installed a touchscreen controller. Now I can control the temperature through it, listen to music. I’ve also upgraded the suspension in my car because it felt terrible to me, and I replaced the braking system as well. The brakes were just not up to par, so I installed new components to improve safety and control. I also made sure the interior looks perfect, adding custom details and ensuring every surface is in top condition. I decided not to make major changes to the exterior paintwork since the color has held up well, but I did send it for polishing. It’s important to me that the car looks great, as it will be featured in a car exhibition. I’ve attended similar shows in Germany before, so it’s exciting to see smaller exhibitions happening here in my home country, especially with local sponsors supporting the event. The main sponsors are a local beer producer and some Hungarian online casinos, with some of them listed here (https://somagyarkaszino.com/). It’s a bit disappointing that these events aren’t widely popular in my country yet, but I’m glad to see them growing in presence.

I put collector plates on my Marauder last week. No more buying stickers every 2-3 years. It now has 73k miles. It also got a new Motorcraft battery and an oil change last week. The tech told me the tires were 16 years old. I guess I should consider some new tires one of these days. He also remarked about how good they looked with no checking/cracking.

I do occasionally consider selling it but when I think about someone else owning it, I put it back in the garage and forget about it for a few years. lol.

Pulled Silver out for CA SMOG… Battery had died due to lack of use (two years), got it all detailed, lubber, and road ready and drove it an hour up into mountains to a local infamous burger house. Then back to get it smogged. Cleaned it again and put it back into garage.

Car is CRANKY and jumpy from not being driven enough. I warned the smog tech guy (they smogged them all for over a decade and love Marauders) and he smoked the tires by accident and it scared him. Later that day while backing the Silver it into its space in garage (slight up hill and narrow) half way into the space the car stopped, I touched the gas peddle ever so slightly, and rear broke loose, and I damn near made my house a drive through. Barely, barely, barely stopped in time. Now have two foot long “patches” on finished garage floor. Will take photo next time car is out. You won’t believe it. Trickle Charged the Black‘s battery and will repeat most of above this week.

Apparently my air suspension pump is in-op. The car rides and drives fine but I don't hear pump run when I start the car.

I wish I knew what I was doing. On one hand I'd like to keep the car forever, on the other hand, selling it would help get me into something else. I put a single tank of gas through it about every three years. I had 70k miles on it in '09. Now it's up to almost 74k miles. Some would call that crazy...myself included.

Of course, once it's gone, it's gone for good. If I sold it today, I bet it would end up in a salvage yard within five years. That's probably my only reason for hanging onto it.

I'm not sure if I own the car or it owns me.

My 2004 just had the engine overhauled but when I driving the car home I noticed the alarm light next to my vent blinking twice pausing and then blinking twice again. Also while the horn does beep with the panic button the alarm does not go off when I open the door from the inside with the alarm supposedly activated. Not quite sure what to do as I need my car alarm.

I relocated my oil gauge to the A pillar gauge pod. Mine's been waiting patiently for the Eaton swap big parts to begin installation. Beforehand I installed the heat exchanger (Frozen Boost) and boost/AFR gauges on the pillar. Those have a tendency to consume time if they're installed with a high degree of care and detail. I began my install with the small parts first to avoid that "hardware store at 7:50pm" appearance we've ALL seen.
With the proper tune it's probably not necessary to have AFR in my constant line of sight. The oil (with real gauge) is crucial and will be seen more easily if anything goes wrong with the relocated filter and hoses.

With that completion I have my critical sweeping gauges in my line of sight and voltage/AFR in the console.

As far as details, in my line of work occasionally I'll score ENTIRE vehicle wiring harnesses so any and all wires I extend will use matching colors/gauge and all connections are solder/heat shrink with the entire length of the new harness wrapped in Tesa tape.

Put the original rotors back on. I had bought the drilled/slotted kind that someone posted on here back in 20...roughly a decade ago (wow! and yes, I actually kept the originals in a box for a decade...lol). Well, for the past 3 years I was having to have them turned every 6 months because I would have an earthquake in my hands when braking at speeds from 50 to 35mph. Went over to mustangeddie's place today and he swapped them out for me. Sooooo much smoother...no shakes! And my braking power seems to be a bit stronger as well. Oh yeah, I flipped 190k on the way home...

Swapped the rear air suspension for P71 grade coil springs and threw in some new HD shocks. When I got the car, it was flat on its ass on 18 yo tires. Compressor is shot too and it would be too costly to replace and install everything. Maybe one day, but right now I just want it to grace these roads again this Summer. It has been neglected for far too long.

Unfortunately, I bought it without checking it in person due to distance, trusted the seller who was a "sweet" old lady, but she swindled me saying the car was roadworthy and in better shape than it actually was. Paid CAD$16k (US$11,600) for it, got a whole laundry list of stuff to do (luckily very few items are major), but overall it's been a great experience working on this car. On the plus side, the pros:

- Absolutely no rust, unheard of due to harsh Canadian winters and copious amounts of salt on the roads.
- Interior is almost 100% mint. There's one barely visible cigarette burn bothering me.
- Car is almost 100% original. Came with a K&N CAI and the new suspension I installed.
- It has 98k km on the odometer (~60k miles).
- It seems only 471 Marauders made it here to Canada (correct me if I'm wrong) and this '03 300A is one of those Canadian-spec ones. It was very hard to find one at a reasonable price that wasn't modded or abused.

Might be cope, but in my mind it was still a good deal for such a timeless vehicle, which provides such a unique experience and will never be made again. I can't stand new/electric cars, planned obsolescence, useless electronics that cost a fortune to replace, manufacturers denying us our right to repair, etc. This is the car for me and it shall be one legacy I'll leave my kids one day.
