Doubt anything will come of this, but I hate Ohio's law that requires front license plates:

I removed mine already and only got popped once for it back in '02, but...still, it's a BS law.

Massachusetts has the law as well and they enforce it... I hate it too, but I can see why they want them on the front too

Around here, most of the time it is just used it as probable cause to initiate a traffic stop. If there are no other violations, it's generally a verbal warning.
I just don't like the possibility of being stopped and bugged about it, but I accept the risk until such point the law changes.

Used to years ago.
Cleveland heights popped me for $80.00 and I saw the light.
My new pet peeve is the late registration fee of $20.00.
My birthday is in Feb.,
I don't bring my MM and Capri RS out of winter storage till April or May
which will cost me a total of $40.00 this year.
Can't wait to tell my state representative my thoughts on this one.
Apologies for the thread jack.

Cleveland heights popped me for $80.00 and I saw the light. That's who got me.
I was driving a '77 Chrysler Cordoba at the time. Completely mint car, just a beauty inside and out. Bought it in southern Ohio from a used dealer, who got it from a no-front plate state. Ergo, no bracket, no holes. Didn't even have the thing for a month.
Whatever cop it was, he chewed my ass out, asking me why I didn't have the front plate. I explained, y'know, it had just qualified for historical plates, mint chrome bumper, purchased from southern OH by way of PA, haven't had it that long...he was not happy. Even showed him the front plate that I was carrying in the glovebox.
I asked if I could have a fix-it ticket, no dice.
So I mailed my waiver back with a Polaroid of the front end of the car, with the ticket taped to the bumper with my plate laying on the ground. On the bottom I wrote "I'm not fixing it."
I used to go to Coventry all the time while in college. Since that occasion, I try to avoid it when possible and am very cautious about it. On Friday nights, while on the way to my radio show at JCU, I pass by the Warrensville Center/Mayfield intersection and at least half of the time see CHPD on a traffic stop.
It's a shame. I know a lot of people who specifically avoid that area because of CHPD.
My new pet peeve is the late registration fee of $20.00. I also hate this. Thanks for reminding me...Latourette will be receiving email from me shortly.

And WHAT, cut 50% of prison manufacturing jobs, NO WAY!
That is a BS law. Here's another BS law, our city added $5 per car fee when getting a plate renewed. The $5 per car goes to the city now. My wife and I can only have two vehicles out on the road at one time. For the other vehicles that I'm not driving.....they are robbing me.

Can you renew in another city BMV and avoid the fee?

The Ohio State Legislature has tried to change the law a couple of
times, only to be rebuffed by the Ohio State Highway Patrol/police (lobby)
saying the need two (2) plates for safety and law enforcement!!!!
What BS.....:mad2:
