Do you guys think driving the Marauder make you less likely to get pulled over? Like maybe a cop thinks you are an off duty cop or he glances at you quickly and thinks you are in an undercover car?

Well, I also think that a lot of cops drive Crown Vics and Grand Marquis as their personal cars because they realize how great their squad cars are. So when they see one on the street, they figure it's a good chance it's a cop driving. Unless it's one of those goofy ones with the landau tops and all the frilly crap being driven by Grandpa!

The answer for me is NO! hahaha I get pulled over just as much in this thing as any other car... Although I have passed cops on the highway sitting on the side of the road doing 80+ and they didn't stop me, so I am guessing that they show slack for these vehicles... SOME anyways!

I have not been pulled over in 2+ years in this car. I used to get pulled over all the time! Of course I had a lot of HOT cars. Firebird Formula. Daytona Shelby. '72 Cutlass. Dodge Ram Hemi with LOUD duals. '69 VW Bus. (just kidding, not hot)

I think it helps, I wave just to make sure, of course age also makes me more cautious in how I drive which automatically reduces the chance of being pulled over - and if I am in the left lane and a car is a block or so a head of me the lane clears right up - if I am close to the person in front of me they see the mercury logo and know I'm not a cop but from a distance they pull to the middle lane.

Where I live, "undercover" cars are pretty easy to spot.
They have a different license plate than everybody else, usually (but not always).
But they also use minivans, Chargers, Wimpalas, and everything else.
Anything to enforce the "driving tax".

I passed a car with a bit of 'assertiveness' and before I could slow back down, I passed a state boy coming the opposite way, cresting a hill. He only got a glimpse of me but I was doing about 90. Not even a brake light. He probably thought only an LEO would do something that brazen...

I've had cops in their patrol cars wave at me, I guess they think I might be one of them in an unmarked car ! I don't want to jinx myself but I've never been stopped in my MM & I have passed some radar units while doing 80, just lucky I guess unless once again the black MM gets some respect!

The Greenville County cruisers are all dark blue, so at intersections, etc., I often get the once-over to determine if I'm an unmarked LEO.
More frequently I have POVs pull off into the slow lane, or the brake lights come on when I come up beside them thinking I'm a LEO.
I've only been pulled over once for a warning about entering a turn lane too soon, E-Dubb got ticketed for speeding a couple years ago while driving the car.

Yes, PG is on their P's and Q's whe it comes to pulling over Vics. When I had my Black 00' P71 I called it cop bait. I got pulled over every week sometimes twice a week. When i got the MM they just fall back. On the HWY they cut both cars a lot of slack because it does look like something a UC would drive.:coolman:

You do look like a smooth undercover especially with the Rhino guard on the front lol.
If you were like 19 -25 they would be all over you just like the rest of us. I've been pulled over by police in PG County, DC, and VA more times for just casually sitting at a stop light or in a parking lot parked minding my own business and causing no trouble as opposed to the usual dumb stuff I did when they were never around. I can't wait to go to the Police Academy

Well I agree with the most part with what everyone else has said so far. I mean, I think there's a less percentage of getting pulled over in our Marauders because IT IS a Marauder and therefore it's similar to a crown vic or grand marquis. I mean no one who doesn't know what a Marauder is, will just assume it's another slow grandpa car and will pay no mind to it.
Course, like everyone's been saying, you drive to get yourself notice than that percentage of chance of getting pulled over rises exponentially.
I don't about the rest of you, but I feel I have a pretty good eye for cops. I think it's because I'm always on the lookout for other Marauders on the road and I will instinctively see Crown Vic police cruisers and Grand Marquis'. I'm not trying to say I drive like a madman and can always spot them. I'm careful. Especially since my tint is at 11% (which is very illegal in the state of VA). But I can say that i've spotted cops way ahead on the side and it's saved my butt a couple times.
I believe having a Marauder makes you more in tune with your driving habits and we are all more aware. See, the thing is, for most people a car is just a tool to get from Point A to Point B. For us, well, the Marauder IS the point!

Cops waved to me a couple of times and I've been pulled over a couple of times. It depends on how observant the cop is. Once a friend of mine was following me and got pulled over for "Tailgating a police vehicle." LMAO!

i've been pulled over multiple times in PG, most times it was me doing something stupid, lol, but i guess it really depends on where you are...the only times i have been pulled over for a "routine" stop is when i was in a less than "savory" area of this county, lol, i guess because we look so much like the crown vic guys and i have the graphite tint on her...i remember one time a friend was following me in his mustand out in bowie and there were two cops behind me, he was driving next to them, i swore i was about to be pulled over, you know how you know when they're checking your plates, looking down and then looking up at you...so i call my friend and he tells me that they're arguing about if the car is a ford or a mercury hahahahahahaha so like i said, out here it really just depends on where you are...glad i don't live in the hood or i would be in trouble..especially with my driving habits

The only time it will help is if the LEO is not active...meaning if he does not have the Radar/Laser in his hand...... Sitting in a median just watching cars for excessives and the like, you may get a pass. Happened to me more than a few times up and down the ea. coast.
I have been pulled a total of 8 times in my Marauders, and gotten tickets on 6 of those occasions... All deserved. Can't complain considering what I have gotten away with......
If he does have laser/radar, he will light you up just like any other..... Don't forget from a distance alot of cars look the same, and by the time he see's the shape, he's usually already coming for ya.....
I also would advise against the thin blue line stickers. If you have no meaningful verifiable connection to law enforcement, it could be construed as impersonation or mocking law enforcement..... Don't think they can haul you in for having the sticker on your car, but they sure can mess with you in other ways....
Down here with the political climate & police being enlisted as revenue agents, they will give a speeding ticket to their mothers if they get the chance...... No lil bumper sticker gonna save ya from officers like that.
Best 3 things to get:
1. Laser Blinders
2. A "Rabbit" out in front of you on the hwy. that will get lit up before you do and in so doing "trip" your setup
3. More alert while driving your vehicles. It will save ya tickets, and your azz too from the dopes on the road:beer:

i was getting pulled over a bit.. i had 8 percent tint around the whole car..... i made that legal... and even then, got pulled over for "probable cause"..... After putting a few Snowboarding stickers (my sport/hobby) i haven't had any problems since then. The stickers are black with white lettering, so they look quite good.. and their all the same style, black sticker, white lettering.. no crazy bumpersticker's wrecking my look!

I don't get pulled over as much because when i first got the car, i got pulled over all the time. The cops around here know its me, and they know when i pull into my tiny little 8sq miles of city, and the speed limit hits 40mph, ill be doing 35mph.

I would have to totally agree. There for LEO's to put on Personal Vehicles, and direct family members. My dad is a retired cop, now a 911 dispatcher, and he doesn't even want one, he had them on his BMW ex-CHP bike, when he retired, he got rid of all his cop stuff, including the motorcycle. Not worth the hassle. Because i guarantee you someone out there will give you a hard time about it, if you don't have an amazing up-to-par story as to why you have it.
You would probably be better off getting those local "I support xxxxxxxxx Sheriffs Office" stickers. Which look lame and are not going to get you out of a ticket.

Local and state has done this a few times over the years but never got a ticket for speeding and lord knows a couple of times I did deserve one just no LEO's around to see it.

When I first got my car I was pulled over quite a lot for doing nothing, just the officer wanting to chat about a "Silver" Marauder. "Wow I only thought these came in black, this isn't a re-paint is it?" Was the most common question/statement, the other was "Wish we had that" lol.
I got my very first speeding ticket within a month of owning my MM, got another speeding ticket 99 in a 55mph which was bogus to start with. I can't do 99 mph in my car with the big azz snow tires, scares me at 70 mph lol, ticket was dropped anyways. Got a warning for tint, exhaust, speeding x 3 (was honest with the officer and had no excuses besides being stupid) and lane change without a turn signal when there was no other cars around....
