I would like to point out that I think street racing is retarded. I'll head off with someone from a stop light, but I quit at the speed limit. I've gone over 100mph on a public road once in my life (while driving), and that was enough for me.

Two of my friends died from street racing, it's just not worth it to me, not to mention illegal. I like driving fast and all, but don't be a dumbass.

It's all about power to weight, not just power. I just read today a 62 Impala SS 409 could run down the 1320 in 14.9 seconds... and it had 409 horsepower! :eek:

Yep, that's about the extent of it for me too, but you can get a racing ticket even for that. You can get one JUST for accelerating too quickly coming out of a parking lot.

You sure it was the 409 hp engine that produced a 14.9 and not the 380 hp one? 62 Impalas with the 409 orginally came with 380 hp and later came the 409 hp engine (same cubic in as the 380 hp engine) that had a better intake and better carb.

I guess I've been lucky, since that's the only guy to try me so far. I tried starting something with a Lotus yesterday on 26, just to see him take off, but it was some old man doing 50 in a 60...

Taryn's good, I just took her to Ft. Sumter yesterday, pretty cool place! We were thinking about checking out Poe's Tavern today down on Sullivan's island, I hear it's a pretty cool little restaurant. Either way, getting off this forsaken base is the goal. :D
