just installed the flowmasters 40 series. the car is still a little quiet but deeper in tone, don't get me wrong it's still a little louder than stock muffler. is there any resonator on the car, if there is, where is it located on the car? i'm unable to locate it.

First, did you get the Delta's or the supers? The resonators are inside the rear tips and can be removed by cutting off, pouding it out and rewelding it, or replacing it with a res. delete tip.

Also delete the 2nd set of cats.
Noticeable diffrence.

How much louder the car would sound??? If I delete the resonators and the secound set of cats...would there be an emission problem if i delete the secound set of cats???

Annoyingly loud and you'll probably have drone that will drive you crazy on long trip. You'll wish you had never touched the exhaust.

I've had my exhaust redone 3 times in the last 12 months just to get it quieter. Peace at last.

Flowmasters almost always drone, it's an inherent thing to their design. Resonator deletion and second-pair cat removal WILL definately wake up the sound though.

Extend the tips out 1 1/2 to two inches when you re-install the res-delete, that will reduce cabin drone.

No drone here....my Marauder is my wifes DD and if there was drone I would get yelled at....the key is get the tips out a little...makes a world of difference

LOL!!! It's not that I'm too old. It's the cops, they seem to be ALL too old. I've gotten pulled over enough times in the past for loud exhaust and that is what's getting old for me. Besides, I love smoking a loud car with my "whisper" quiet 3" exhaust and only have the Whipple sing to my ears.
If you guys want to have a loud exhaust, have at it. Been there, done that. It was only fun for me for the first 15 minutes.

a wise man once told me that if you like the sound of the marauders exhaust, dont change it. lol

You will not notice much sound difference with just the deleted tips. It's more of a very subtle difference in accoustics is all. After I deleted my rear cats, I was finally happy. +1 on extending the tips an 1 1/2.

So what exactly did you end up with? got pics?

I plan to quiet down my exhaust with the rebuild. I've got Kook's long tubes and x pipe with no cats, and Magnaflow mufflers. I'll have to look at my tips, but I'm pretty sure they are deleted.

Nothing special, but trying to quiet down my longtube headers and rear deleted cats was a challenge in finding the right combination. I've even tried the 3rd muffler with dual in & outs. I finally got it quiet with 20" long body Dynomax Super Turbo (reverse flow), H-pipe, 18" resonator plus 7" resonated tip on each side for a total of 4 resonators.

Resonators are key in making the exhaust quieter and to help reduce drones. That's why the factory installed them on just about every luxury cars and trucks.
