I know they upgraded the transmission in the 04 Marauders to the 4R75W. So what's the difference from the original one?

Does having a 4R75W make any difference when doing the J-mod compared to doing a 03 with a 4R70W?

A wave plate is used for the intermediate clutch. Plant ring gear and pump are different those are the main changes also I think there are also some other small items

As per the 2004 Marauder Overview ...
The 2004 Marauder also gets a new 4R75W heavy-duty, four-speed automatic transmission for greater efficiency and low-end torque. Other refinements include the addition of needle bearings and Teflon seals to a new 11.25-inch high-stall-speed torque converter with a one-inch clutch. The new transmission provides quicker upshifts and downshifts, and lets the driver "kick down" into first gear at a higher speed.

Just be aware that they are not interchangeable without a tune to account for the different ring gear 'hole' count for the OSS.

Hey, Darrin, with a tune in the 03 can the 4R75W be retrofitted into the 2003? Is it "easy" so long as I get a tune change? Anything else involved? Thanks. JB

It takes nothing but a very simple change in the tune.
